Aaron Echolls' Memorial Service (not to be confused with the private burial for the family and selected reporters) is being held in the Gold Ballroom of the Neptune Grand. And there he is. If you look closely at the corner, you'll spot him.

Logan should be looking dapper in his well-tailored suit. He should be a lot of things, but somehow he just manages to look nervous and uncomfortable.

In a perfect world, this wouldn't take long, but it's a noir world, and Trina wants a production.

You know what a production requires? Actors. Actors who actually play their parts, and not just hide out in corners waiting for someone to yell "Cut" so they can go back to their trailers and get properly drunk.

The gentle, concerned smile on Trina's face is for the benefit of anyone who might be watching. The rather hard look in her eyes is for her little brother.

"Everything okay?"

Logan's vision is bleary and his expression looks vaguely hunted. He catches the hard look, but ignores it.

"Sure," he says, manufacturing a smile. "Why wouldn't it be? I mean, things are just peachy, right?"

"Because this is our father's memorial service, and you're skulking around the edges ignoring everyone. Could you please try to act like a human being?"

There's nothing quite like crashing a funeral.

Weevil's dressed in black, but out of coincidence, not respect, and it's more leather than suit. He's lounging against a wall, hands in his pockets, and grinning back at the people who shoot him disapproving stares.

There are a lot of disapproving stares.

Trina has noticed him. She's not sure who he is or what he wants, and he's going to look oddly out of place in the photos.

But she'll try to be nice. She supposes.

"Were you a fan of Daddy's?"

Aaron Echolls isn't worth spit. But Weevil's not going to be rude to his surviving children, for Christ's sake.

Sobering: "Not really, no."

"Friend of Logan's?" she guesses, and something clicks in her brain. "Beetle, right?"
