A word of advice.

Judging from the knowledge I find on this network, I am afraid to say that some things are just as I feared. I have come to learn that not only are some of the realms and worlds connected by these teleportation devices alternate versions of themselves, but alternate or future time lines as well ( Read more... )

Restore the Balance, huh.

And here I hoped I'd never have to hear those words again...

I'll keep an eye out as best I can, anyway. I haven't heard any rumors of problems, and I think someone would've told me if something that bad were coming down the pipe.

Yes.

And thank you, although unfortunately sometimes these are the sorts of things you don't see coming until it's too late. I might be labeled as paranoid for saying this, but it's a valid concern.

The day someone fails to tell me of a universe-ending problem is the day I can die happy.

You're probably right. Unfortunately, right now, there's not a lot else I can do.

While your concern for people uncreating themselves in time travel is both cute and appreciated, I have a feeling that it is much more complicated than that. Just based on what I've read, it seems more like they exist in parallel to one another.

In fact, while I've failed to prove it yet, it seems as though time is very capable of fixing itself even with our interference. Of course this is all theory…and frankly it’s one I’m not itching to prove or disprove.

So, moving on, while it was a nice job in trying to protect your information, I agree. Or at least, in a fashion. It's the right direction, but that is just a temporary solution. What we need to do is interrupt the connections and then negate further attempts.

Which, in case you were and likely are wondering, is impossible.

In parallel? Yes, it is possible. It's also nothing we can prove at the moment, and I would rather warn with caution rather than risk the safety of many.

If time could fix itself, then I wouldn't be worried sick over the state of things right now. I also doubt I would have had to spend the majority of my life guarding the gates of time. Even more I doubt you have seen someone nearly fade out of existance due to something like this.I see. I will be more careful what I use this device for in the future then ( ... )

That's not an accurate representation of what needs to be done though. Since its being done from OSTA’s end, it’s nothing more than a glorified defense measure. Scrambles either redirect to the entrance point or link to another. I’ve seen similar measures like this, so I should know.

Look at it this way…any device that can take something from point A and drop it off at point B is creating a passageway through subspace. Think of it like an invisible bridge through the layers of fabric that compose space and time. Now, deactivating it is only a temporary solution because reestablishing a connection is simple. What I’m proposing is distorting the subspace passageway and rendering that specific connection useless. That alone is nigh impossible ( ... )

When I say that they need to be shut down, I don't mean by any temporary means. I had considered something more like destroying the devices would be appropriate. I know it's hoping too much to just ask OSTA to comply; they certainly don't seem sympathetic to anyone.

But you point out some things I hadn't considered. Thank you.

I'm well aware what it involves to pass through subspace. However, if we use your method, there's hardly a need to bother with each and every universe. All you need to do is stop it at it's source. If OSTA is prevented from reaching out from Weisdia, wouldn't it be a matter of each world destroying the teleporters on their own?

You are one of the ones I was most concerned about, Klarth-san. But if you are aware of the dangers, then I will leave it at that.

I'm glad that you survived, and that you understand.

I think, at this point, neither side is appealing anymore. The talk of threats is apalling, even if I understand the necessity of sacrifice. You may consider me your ally, then.

Although I have many ideas I should probably discuss with you, I'm afraid there's little I can do at the moment to impliment them. This... Doctor McKay is very intelligent, and he might be able to help, but that's providing we can agree on something long enough to get somewhere...
