At a restaurant I worked at about 8 years ago, there was a big hub-bub over serving alcohol to a visibly pregnant woman. (Had to have been 6 - 7 months along) She was with a table of people eating & drinking. The waitress served her one drink, and she ordered a second. As a mother, the waitress refused to give it to her.
From what I remember, I think the restaurant could not legally refuse her service because she was not visibly intoxicated. I THINK someone from the restaurant HAD to serve her. Does that sound right? Anyone know the law on this? I often wonder about this issue. I mean, what's stopping someone else at the table from buying that woman drinks? Whose job is it to make sure the woman doesn't get the fetus drunk? Just gives me a headache thinking about it.
