I know exactly where your coming from. Bankruptcy is oddly expensive. My guy told me today $3600 for Chapter 13.

I don't mean to pry, but that strikes me as WAY up there. A lot of the guys locally who do primarily bankruptcy practice offer a flat rate of $999 and actually advertise this. An "expensive" bankruptcy practitioner might charge double that. Filing and process fees might plausibly add another $300-500.

I would encourage you to shop around.

I am in a bad place, I am wanting to keep both my cars, and my house. I also own a sole-propitetor company and had to renegotiate a 401k loan. As well as a tax bill with the state. There are alot of little things here and there that they estimate will be about 20 hours. Hell, I figure it would talk him that long just to go thru all my paperwork.
