I'm the biggest MySpace whore ever, but I still post in LJ.

I find that LJ is more content based. Less of a way of communicating with friends as it is to write. MySpace on the other hand, is more physical, or about getting messages through to friends.

To each their own, but I think that blogging is actually probably good for you.
