So tonight I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with DJ Andy Smith (of Portishead fame). I must say, he is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. An upside to talking with Andy is that his accent does not become too thick to understand after he has had a couple of pints. It was a really good time. I don't want New City open for 36 hours straight. Contrary to what I've been telling myself recently, I actually do need to sleep occasionally. Sleep! SLEEP!

My favorite UK law factoid: While I was over there in 2003-04, magic mushrooms were legal so long as they were fresh. In fact, stores similar to Tropicana in Calgary sold them. It was awesome!! Sadly the 'legal loophole' has now been closed so this has stopped - sucks since it was giving people safer access to a drug that isn't addictive anyway.
