I've been waiting four years to go to college. Why so long? First there was the fear of the unknown; then there were bills. I almost went to college two years ago but once I saw the bill, I was terrified that I would never be able to afford it. So I dropped out before I ever started. After four long years of working jobs I didn't like, in industries I didn't always approve of, I decided it was time to turn my life around and go to college. There are so many reasons that I want to go to school again; a better life, to have a career, and a thirst for knowledge.
Going to college will mean a better life for me. College offers a vast array of opportunities to grow and be a part of a community. There are a countless number of ways for you to get involved. For example, you could join a club or be a part of the student government. Eventually, being a college graduate will mean that I can forge a better life for myself. It will mean that I can finally have the job I've been dreaming of. All of my hard work will open doors of opportunity that I never even imagined existed and I cannot wait.
I have spent the past four years trying to learn as much as I could about my chosen major. I've taught myself some basic html, and a few other things but nothing will be as valuable as being in a classroom and experiencing that feeling of elation as the pieces of the puzzle come together and you realize you've learned something new.
I want to go to college to better my life and gain a greater knowledge of the things around me. I want to be a part of a community, a social network if you will. College will open many doors for me and change my life for the better. That is why I want to go to college.
