For not the first time, my PC has decided to not be able to see the internet when I know the router's working fine (as exampled by me typing this on my laptop). Anything at all in the BIOS screen when it beeps and reboots? Does it count the RAM up, report the CPU speed, list hard drives? If it were Linux I would think you had foolishly set it to runlevel 6 in the init file. An intermittent problem or something solved by the stuff you have done sounds like overheating. Try the compressed air thing. You might also try reseating stuff (with the power cable unplugged, natch), like the RAM and the video card and the power cable where it attaches on the mobo. Have you noticed any issues in the computer itself? Things taking a while to open, slow downs, things like that?

The BIOS doesn't say anything but after the first failed boot it does bring me to the "Windows failed to load normally, would you like to (A) (B) (C) or (D)" screen.

I got the can of air today, and I'll make a point of disassembling the computer tonight if I have time, but most likely tomorrow evening.

I'll make sure to keep a more watchful eye on symptoms such as slow performance from now on and let you know.
