[Fic] Bradley/Colin - And I wondered where you went to

Dec 22, 2009 18:16

I'm feeling rather blah today; and so I thought I'd finish the darkest fic I've got going on. This usually isn't my genre. I wrote it while listening to Sinéad O'Connor's Troy (which is where the title comes from too,) so if it's a little darker than usual I blame her :D But of course I turn it all corny in the end harhar.

Lol so today I saw this vid (can't even remember which one) in which Angel said something like: "Oh I've been googling the crew!" and she was talking about these youtube vids where they pair up the characters (she was talking about Gwen/Merlin I think) and I got all: oh god no, if they're reading the fics I'm gonna completely die. They wouldn't do that, right? Especially not RPF, right? XD WHO DOES THAT?!

Bradley and Colin, if you're reading this: I'M VERY SORRY FOR VIRTUALLY VIOLATING YOU. I don't even have an excuse or anything XD

Title: And I wondered where you went to
Author: slowdead
Pairing: Bradley/Colin (RPS)
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Very mild violence
Genre: some angst and some bitter-sweetness, total AU
Disclaimer: This never ever ever happened and this is total AU. I'm not making any money with this (at all,) it's just for fun :)
Summary: A lifetime of love told in nine little pieces.
Notes: Written while listening to Troy by Sinéad O'Connor (title's from the song too,) so if it's kinda weird I blame the song XD

One.

Bradley’s torn between pushing the boy in front of him up against some wall and just laughing in his face. He opts for staring instead, thinks that’s the safest thing he could do at this point.

The boy smiles at him and Bradley wonders what he’s got to smile about; milk’s dripping all over the front of his shirt and his hair is a mess. Bradley’s starting to suspect, however, that his hair had been like that before he’d ran into Bradley in the middle of the school’s cafeteria.

“I usually make a better first impression than this.” The boy says. Bradley isn’t sure he could’ve ever made a better first impression.

Two.

“You’re the one who’s always looking at me.” Colin says; Bradley clenches his fists at his sides.

He ignores it; he ignores Colin’s voice, the warmth radiating from his body (he’s standing that close,) and he ignores that sickening feeling that spreads through his chest and up his throat and neck until he thinks he’s gonna faint.

“And if you weren’t so stubborn and proud maybe you would’ve noticed me watching back.”

Three.

Colin’s never dated anyone before Bradley. Pretty sure he never wants to date anyone else ever again after date number six. Bradley takes him to see a play and kisses him breathless against his bedroom door.

Bradley’s gorgeous and funny and he gets Colin in a way he used to be sure nobody would ever get him.

Four.

Bradley’s never been in love before Colin. He quietly laughs to himself whenever he thinks back at how he used to think he had been.

Colin’s beautiful in a way that makes his chest ache and his fingers tingle in anticipation. Colin’s always either far too quiet or far too loud; but Bradley likes that, likes the way it makes him feel better about the way he’s always too passionate when it comes to Colin too.

Five.

Bradley dresses up as Zorro for Halloween and Colin’s only able to stop laughing when Bradley pins him to the bed and kisses him until he doesn’t even remember why Bradley’s wearing that silly black suit to begin with.

Not that Bradley’s got it on for much longer after that.

They miss out on a lot of great parties and events after that. Always too busy licking into each other’s mouths and trying to find semi-secluded horizontal surfaces.

When they have sex it’s the only thing that matters anymore. It’s desperate, hurried and even after weeks, months and years Colin still finds himself pushing against Bradley like he needs it as much as he needs the air in his lungs. Bradley ruts against him and thrusts inside him and gasps I love you, I love you in his mouth until his voice is raw.

Six.

When they fight they fight like their lives depend on it. It’s shouting, screaming and harsh words. And then one time there’s even punches. Colin punches Bradley’s chest and it’s a total sissy punch and it gets to Bradley in a way the actual fight never could and he punches Colin in the mouth.

Colin knows that afterwards Bradley hurts more inside than his split lip ever could.

His eyes are puffy and red; and he doesn’t even look at Colin anymore. He stays out late and some nights he doesn’t come home at all.

He only starts looking at Colin again, start acting like a fraction of himself again when Colin’s face is finally healed.

Seven.

Bradley used to leave the most important things unsaid;

He used to watch Colin wake up and think: I wouldn’t leave you for all the money in the world. He’d look at Colin’s wide and angry eyes and think: God, you’re beautiful. He’d bite down on Colin’s neck, fist his hands in Colin’s shirt and think I’m hate thinking of what I would’ve become if I hadn’t met you.

But Colin’s started getting quieter, eyes shallow and lips a tight line; and suddenly all those words start spilling out until Bradley’s sobbing in Colin’s shirt. Don’t leave me. and I love you. and I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.

He keeps clinging until Colin’s crying too, clinging right back and breathing shallow breaths in Bradley’s mouth.

They shift and suddenly they’re tearing at each other’s clothes and Bradley’s chest stops feeling like it could collapse any moment. ‘Cause Colin’s laughing now; laughing as Bradley thrusts into him and it’s the most beautiful moment of Bradley’s life.

Eight.

They buy a house in the countryside.

They have goats and chickens and just far too many cats, (because Bradley keeps feeding them and then Colin doesn’t have the heart to chase them away.) And sometimes Colin will look outside at Bradley doing something random like petting one of the goats and whispering something in her ear; and then he’ll smile.

Colin’s cooking dinner and Bradley wraps his arms around him, kissing Colin’s shoulder and telling him: “You’re the reason for all the good things in my life.”

Colin nudges him with his shoulder and simply smiles.

Nine.

They do everything they should do in a lifetime and they do it together.

They grow old -two old blokes still living in the house they bought when they were full of plans and dreams- and they do it together. All the plans seem fulfilled, but the dreams are still there. Just like the way Bradley still kisses Colin’s forehead goodnight every night, and the way Colin is still the only one who can make Bradley’s tea just right.

They did it all together and they don't regret anything; not even the times it was all ugly and heartache. It's all part of it anyway.
