Usopp carefully set a stack of plates down into the soapy water of the sink. For only the millionth time that day, he began to brush the blond hair from the front of his left eye before remembering it wouldn't do much to clear his vision. Instead, he dropped both hands into the water and grabbed a dishrag to begin washing up.
When it was quiet like this, George kept having to remind herself that this was Usopp standing next to her and not Sanji. When he opened his mouth it was hard to forget, but right now the whole bodyswitch thing was less...weird. George held out her hand to take the clean plate to dry, noticing Usopp fiddling with his hair. "Is that annoying?" she asked, ruffling his hair amiably.
Usopp shrugged. "I just...keep on wanting to brush it out of the way." He wiped another plate clean and held it out to George. He was beginning to feel that slight twitchy discomfort again, and by now he knew exactly how to fix it. He sighed and dried his hands on the bottom of his shirt, reaching into a pocket and pulling out a half-empty pack of cigarettes.
George took the plate and dried it as she watched muscle memory at work- Usopp expertly lit the cigarette. "What does being addicted feel like?" she asked.
"Annoying," he answered flatly, but as he inhaled and felt the smoke fill his lungs, he instantly felt calmer. He took one more deep drag before letting the cigarette rest between his lips, going back to the dishes without another word. He still wasn't used to talking and hearing Sanji's voice.
George started stacking the plates. She could tell that he didn't really feel like talking, but she was kind of really curious about what being in someone else's body was like. Especially since Usopp saw her as someone different than she saw herself. "Well...what's it like to be Sanji? how is it different from being Usopp?"
Usopp paused for a moment, wiping another plate as he tried to figure out how to answer that. The easy answer was that everything was different, but that wouldn't be entirely accurate either. He decided to start with the most obvious and ever-present thing first. "Um. Everything looks weird." He flapped a hand in front of his face vaguely. "I'm mostly just looking out of one eye, so my depth-perception is messed up, and..." he paused, feeling a little self-conscious. "...I can't see my nose. Sanji's nose. Not unless I really try, I mean."
George tried to look at her nose. "I have trouble seeing mine too," she decided.
Usopp nodded emphatically. "I'm not used to that! I mean. It's kind of always been there."
George snorted. "Do you miss your nose, Usopp?"
"I miss all of me," he said, sounding a touch petulant.
George sighed. "Well I miss you too." She dried another dish.
Usopp gave her a sheepish grin. "Hey, I'm still here. Sort of."
"Well the part I like best about you is still here, at least," she said, smiling back.
Usopp blushed, turning back to the sink quickly. He'd wanted to kiss her just then, just a quick peck on the cheek would have been enough, but he knew even that would be a bad idea.
George grinned. "I've never seen Sanji's face that red," she said, turning back to the dishes as well.
Usopp winced slightly. He'd been hoping she wouldn't notice how flustered he was, but of course a blush would show up brighter against Sanji's paler skin than his own. He gave a small laugh, shrugging, and held out another plate for George to wipe dry.
George's smile faded a little. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," he answered quickly. "I mean, as fine as I can be right now." He paused, taking a long, thoughtful drag on the cigarette. "...is this still too weird for you? Being with me when I look like Sanji? I can finish the dishes by myself if you want."
George took the plate and dried it. "It is weird, but I don't necessarily want to avoid you either. Is it too weird for you to hang out with me?"
Usopp shook his head. "I'd rather hang out with you. It makes things seem more...normal."
George nodded. "I'm really not sure what I'd do if I couldn't hang out with you." She set the dry plate in the pile of dry plates. "Plus, I like Sanji. he's my friend. at least you're not...Zoro. Or something."
Usopp winced slightly. "Zoro's not that bad."
George shrugged, turning to the sink. "Yeah, whatever."
Turning back to sink himself to mask the awkwardness he felt, Usopp began washing again. He wasn't as practiced as Sanji was at holding it between his lips while his hands were occupied, but as long as he didn't think about it too hard, Sanji's body seemed to go on autopilot. He held out another plate for George.
George took the plate, their fingers meeting for a moment or two before she pulled her hand back, inadvertently blushing just a bit. "Sorry," she said.
Usopp nearly dropped his cigarette at the soft brush of George's fingers against his, blushing again deeply. The touch itself had been completely innocent and inadvertent, but because he was so aware of being in Sanji's body, and had been taking great pains to avoid physical contact with George while he was like this, it sent a jolt like electricity straight through him. "...Ah. S'okay," he muttered, not even sure what he was replying to anymore.
George turned towards Usopp. "I miss you being you," she said, "because I really want to kiss you right now..." she trailed off, taking another dish from Usopp.
Usopp sneaked a look over at George. "Y-yeah. Me too."
George moved just a little closer. "What if we did and we...just didn't tell Sanji?"
This time Usopp really did drop his cigarette. It plopped into the suds and went out with a soft fizz. He flailed slightly. "B-but I thought that you--I mean, isn't it too weird if I look like this??"
George blushed. "You're still you. And...Sanji isn't...bad...looking..."
"...ah--" Usopp pushed down the twinge of self-doubt he felt at those words and concentrated on the fact that she said she wanted to kiss him right now. Honestly, he'd been struggling with the urge to kiss her all day. Borrowed body or not, he was going to take advantage. He reached out suddenly, surprising even himself, and took her by the shoulders, his hands still wet from the dishwater, pulling her close and kissing her firmly. "...Sorry," he said, as he came to his sense and broke the kiss. "I guess I got carried away. Or maybe because it's Sanji's body. Jeez, I probably taste like cigarettes, and--"
"I don't care," George said, kissing him again, hard. This was definitely awkward, since Usopp was in Sanji's body, but she couldn't deny that she was attracted to that body. And really attracted to Usopp's personality. She broke the kiss just to kiss him again, parting her lips slightly.
Kissing felt different, largely because Usopp was used to having to angle his face more to allow for his nose. And this definitely wasn't bad. Just incredibly surreal. He did his best to ignore that aspect, answering George's kiss readily and pulling her even closer.
George sighed happily into the kiss, all too ready to forget that Usopp was currently in the wrong body. Sanji's body felt good and she kissed back harder, deepening kiss with her tongue.
Usopp met her tongue with his, bringing his hands (thankfully nearly dry by now) up to cup both sides of her face. Even thought he was slowly getting used to this kind of thing, he still normally felt a flutter of nerves, but Sanji's body seemed to be a lot bolder and more assured in what it was doing.
George made a small, pleased noise, kissing Usopp for a long minute more before breaking it and saying, "Factory?"
Usopp darted a glance back to the sink, hesitating for a moment. Well, most of the dishes were done. Maybe Sanji wouldn't be too upset if they didn't finish... He looked back at George, grinning, and nodded.
George grinned back and took his hand, beginning to walk out of the kitchen and toward Usopp's factory.
Sanji's legs started moving faster, so Usopp was gently pulling George along behind him. In no time they'd arrived at his workshop, and Usopp pulled the door shut behind them, giving George another conspiratory smile.
George smiled back. This was probably a terrible idea, but as long as Sanji didn't find out, what was the harm, right? She couldn't deny that she was attracted to Sanji, and this was probably a once in a lifetime chance...
She decided to stop thinking so much, tugging Usopp towards her as she backed up towards the pile of blankets and pillows in the corner.
Usopp allowed himself to be pulled. His heartbeat increased a bit, but not in the frenzied, frantic way he was used to when they did this sort of thing. Absently, he pushed aside the fringe of hair covering Sanji's left eye to clear his vision, and sighed as it flopped promptly back into place.
George laughed and sat on a pile of blankets, still tugging Usopp after her.
Usopp fell down to his knees onto the blankets after George. He paused, giving a furtive glance backward to make absolutely sure the door was shut, and leaned forward a bit, lifting a hand towards George's face. "Y-you're sure this isn't too weird for you?"
"It's really weird," George said, pulling him a little closer, "but I kind of stopped caring. Kiss me?"
He didn't need to be told twice. Usopp moved forward quickly, pressing his borrowed lips to hers.
Usopp was definitely less inhibited by his nerves, and George was enjoying that quite a lot. She kissed him back, lips parted.
Kissing still felt a bit strange like this, his face an unfamiliar shape, but it wasn't bad. It just made him feel incredibly aware of the fact that this wasn't his body. He angled his face a bit to deepen the kiss, feeling the stubble on Sanji's chin scrape lightly against George's skin, and hoped it wasn't too scratchy.
Kissing Sanji (no, she reminded herself, Usopp) was different from kissing Usopp (...Usopp normally). There was just an air of confidence that Usopp just didn't have and George couldn't help but find it...sexy. She was happy with Usopp, of course, and she didn't have a problem with going slow and letting Usopp relax gradually, but it was nice to be able to really relax for once and enjoy the kiss (although all things considered, this was kind of wrong and should not be as nice or as relaxing as it was), which was soft and slow, but held a certain intensity that George let grow, pressing herself a bit closer.
Usopp made a small noise, muffled by their kiss, and reached out to wrap an arm around George's back.
George made a small noise of her own in return and wrapped one of her own arms around Sanji!Usopp's neck, breaking the kiss only briefly before pressing back against him.
Even though George wasn't pulling him with the arm she'd hooked around his neck, Usopp still moved forward, bracing himself on one arm for balance as he leaned even further into her.
As Usopp leaned forward, George let herself lean back into the pillows. It usually took them quite awhile to get this horizontal. George's stomach flipped over pleasantly and she nipped at Sanji's lower lip.
Well, this was a little different. Usually it was him on his back when they got to this point. He felt his heart give a little flip, but ignored it, pulling away just enough to adjust his angle before kissing her again. He pulled the hand on her back up sighed, cupping it behind her head. Her hair was smooth and soft beneath his--Sanji's--fingers.
George smiled into the kiss, pulling Usopp down even further to her. Usually making out was...really nice, of course...but she was always a little afraid that she was going too fast or that Usopp was going to freak out. This was just...all about the kiss which was fantastic.
Usopp let the kiss linger, feeling a lot more confident as he decided Sanji's body must just know what it was doing better than he did. As long as he didn't think about it much, he wouldn't get stressed.
George had decided to just not think at all, and let the kiss break naturally, letting Usopp take the lead.
Usopp paused after their kiss to lift his head a bit and look down at George, smiling a little uncertainly. She didn't seem to be uncomfortable...
George grinned up at Usopp. "You may have Sanji's face," she said, pulling back her arm from around his neck to touch his face lightly, "but that smile is you."
That made his smile widen into a full-on grin. Usopp turned and pressed a kiss to the palm of her hand before lowering himself again to kiss her lips.
George kissed him back, a sudden surge of affection for him leading her to boldly deepen the kiss.
Usopp answered without hesitation, his tongue seeking hers.
George curled her fingers around the back of Sanji's neck, her free hand almost involuntarily finding its way to Sanji!Usopp's hip.
Usopp brought his other hand up to George's cheek, not breaking their kiss.
George started to slip her hand up Usopp's shirt, but then Sanji's stubbly chin brushed across her face and reminded her that this was Sanji's body. With Usopp inside. Better not get carried away. She pulled her hand back.
Usopp actually felt a twinge of disappointment when George withdrew her hand, but he understood. It was probably weird enough kissing him when he looked like this, and this was Sanji's body anyway, so anything more was probably a really bad idea. They shouldn't even be doing this much, but what Sanji didn't know wouldn't hurt him...
