We're a little overwhelmed. Hal offers to go to this father, Philogolus, to split a cheeseboard. He tends a dairy flock by himself, now that his wife has died.
Everyone's into it, except a slightly pensive Quinn.
The family is really into breeding, since they're an ethnic minority. Dad keeps trying to matchmake Hal, he's extremely in denial.
He's very intrigued by VS, a literal hot woman. Quinn is very shy: she's an actual elf, she doesn't know how the literal other half lives.
Phil is informed as to our situation, as Hal inveigles our way in.
VS offers a performance, but Phil's not into it. Zorn mentioned that they were promised cheese? Phil is taken aback by how his gay non-family-name spreading son has gone around promising people cheese.
We can't stay here, apparently. No room. Zorn offers to stay with the goats. We've been doing great deeds, but Phil says to not get involved with politics, Hal, they're just blame it on us half-elves.
Phil is amazed however by the Lathander milk, and wants to turn it into cheese. Make yourselves comfortable.
Outside, they ask about the assassination attempt. Quinn hesitantly offers that there may be some people who would like to find her who she would prefer not succeed.
Well they've already found you, Zorn says. Why not go find them? A little murder? Eh? Quinn stares at him a minute and thoughtfully says, perhaps...a lot of murder...
Hal wants too come along, but...he doesn't feel good coming without a direct invitation. Perhaps he should stay...? Quinn blurts NO!...and then embarrassed silence.
LK agrees.
VS sneaks into a bedroom of one of Hal's brothers, bonking him. He's stunned, yet grateful. Zorn and Kelfin sleep outdoors. Quinn, mid-TRance, smells...smoke? A fire?
The windows are sealed shut. Don't remember them being shut. The roof feels...warm? Quinn Messages LK to check the roof; LK wakes with a start and confirms yes, the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire.
Ask the wizard if he has any elementalism. He does not. Oh dear.
Quinn wakes the others, finding VS in flagrante delicto - or at least more so than usual - and Hal's brother...in VS.
Hal breaks down a door and rushes out and...surprise attack! With a 27 on sneak, holy cow, we're fighting more people like Quinn.
They hit Zorn and LK for an insane amount of damage. LK is down; Z tries to get another door open, but it's barred.
Quinn hands off her Portable Ram to Hal and tells her to smash the door open; instructs VS to use the Ring of the Ram on the Zorn door. She doesn't know he's there, but even if she did...
...well, LK is an OG, and Zorn is new.
She also smashes a window and sends out K on overflight.
Hal smashes the door and sees an unconscious LK. VS smashes the door with the Ring, sending the debris into the unwitting Zorn. An apology most profuse later, she yells to the attackers that we should talk, and....come to terms?
Zorn pops a fireball on the 4 mannequins. Well, 2, really.
The 2 non-Forcewalled ones circle around and hit Zorn. Quinn steps out, chucks a bola at one - who evades the tangle - and hands off some antitoxin to Zorn. Hal tries to get the family out, and Shields of Faith himself because he's unarmoured right now.
He sleeps shirtless. Quinn is blushing.
VS, yelling "stop it!" throws a Fireball downrange, incinerating 2. Zorn stabilises LK. The family gets out fine, but their efforts to save the house...are dubious in effect.
VS announces that this was not her fault, and...tries to seduce the wooden assassins? They don't respond at all. They do, however, run up to the barrier and self-destruct, ineffectually.
VS' hair is blown back, but otherwise she's fine.
Quinn stalks out of the burning ranch - a ceiling fell on her that she was not given a chance to dodge, oddly - and investigates the smoldering remains of the mannequins. They have +1 wakizashis.
Hal lays hands on a stunned LK, and Z, who has a crossbow bolt sticking out of each arm.
Phil is speechless at the loss of his 20k property. Zorn uses Detect Magic and finds the cheese of Lathander - smoked now, obviously. It's twice as potent now, and can be divided amongst two people.
Phill is stunned. Hal pats him on the shoulder. Phil says he just wants to feel the flames: Hal moves to stop him from diving into the fire, but it's fine, he isn't suicidal.
Guilty conscience aside, everybody pitches in a little/a lot to rebuild. And fricking Lathander descends to reward the generous ones, so mostly VS and LK and Hal.
