Movie review~

I spent the weekend not catching up on school which was a bad idea but whatever~ I watched movies I rented from the library in USF and they were all awesome! :D

Seven Samurai

I forgot in old movies they had the credits in the beginning so I had to fast forward to get to the good stuff. It's nice to see a movie that doesn't rely on blood and guts to get an epic effect of human struggle. One of the 7 samurai's were there for comic effect and I was disappointed when he died... :( It's a cool movie for people who like sword fights and old Asian movies. Like me!

Corpse Bride

I expected the movie to be really dark and scary like Coraline was but it was actually funny and opera-like. With the random people singing. I'm just really amazed by the thought and patience put into stop motion animation. It really was done well and the bride's dress really looks like it was wafting through the wind. The part that I think they could've add another scene to emphasize where Victor starts to see that the Corpse Bride is more than just a skeleton/corpse. But it was fine. The music was very haunting but uplifting towards the end especially when both Victor and Emily play the piano.

Old Boy

I have to say that this movie might be better than Lady Vengeance. Maybe because it was the 1st movie and just how it was thought out so intricately! Towards the end where they put in that little twist is what drove me to say, "WHAT?!" It's just really evil minded. I <3 it! LoL! This scene in the pic was probably not the worst ones but disgusting ones. 'Cause I knew that Koreans do eat their octopus alive but little by little. If they eat it all then the tentacles can choke them during the swallowing process. I'm just really amazed how the actor did this scene 'cause that was definitely a real octopus and he was really eating it!!! ... It was weird. I think I'm gonna go borrow the next one which is Mr. Vengeance or something like that. It might be just as good~

As You Like It

Shakespeare from "All the world's a stage!" Is from this movie! Well book... movie. Whatever! The movie used Shakespeare's same dialogue and script so I was proud of myself that I actually kinda understood what was happening! 'Cause Shakespeare is hard to read/understand. And the director decided to place the script in Japan which was really nice 'cause the environment was very colorful with a lot taking place in the forest scenery. It was really a nice background. I like this movie. I <3 romances and I like how the girl in this movie was smart and did the whole "I'm gonna disguise as a boy to see if this guy really likes me" kinda thing. It was cute and I felt sorry for the emo guy in the movie who always seemed so depressed (except that one part in the movie) that even in the end he didn't want to party. He's weird.

Walking in 2 inch high heels hurts but makes me feel taller! But still can't get the hang of walking in it. I should really study now. :)
