Why AM I SO BAD AT THIS?

For the past several weeks (okay tops, three weeks) I've been attempting to write a review of a novel on goodreads. The problem? Inner perfectionist apparently has to throw visceral insults at me over this (aside from the normal insults about how unworthy the quality of my writing is). I know this is hard for you, but don't think about structure right now. Just write whatever comes to mind, stream of consciousness style, and then structure it later if you feel you need to.

I've never understood thinking about structure before doing the actual writing. How can you know where everything should go if you haven't seen what you've written?

When it comes to all the arguments and points I want to make, I usually can remember the entirety of it. Which is why I trap myself with "Hmmm, what to put where."

The same thing can be said for my fiction.

Apparently I like making things a lot harder on myself. ;-;
