Worn out and worried, Anita tried not to pace around her apartment after calling Ten, tried to relax, curl up on the couch with a movie. It didn't work

Ten rings the doorbell and waits. Then he rings it again, for good measure. He doesn't know what's wrong with Anita, but he suspects it's more than just Nathaniel's departure.
It takes her a minute to make it through the apartment, down all of the stairs to the door on the main level. A quick check to see who it was and she unlocked the door, swinging it open, relief plain on her face. "You came." Like somehow, she still doubted that he might have.
"I know, I just..." No way to say that she always expected to be disappointed so she doesn't, stepping back from the door to let him in, locking the door behind him, the large empty space echoing around them. "Upstairs?"
She steps back, leaning against the counter, blushing slightly. "I just wasn't sure... I don't even really think I meant to tell you that. I'm not good with these sorts of things. At all."

"Oh god, believe me, I know that too well." She reaches back towards him, brushing her hand across him arm before turning, picking up with the coffee where she had left off, her voice still quiet, "Sometimes telling yourself something is a good first step, and I think that's more where I have problems, especially with something like love. Admitting it to myself."
"This is where I say 'make me a coffee, woman' and then ask for a sandwich. And you regret ever falling in love with me, because I am a cruel, hard man."
"Coffee and a sandwich? You are right, you are a cruel cruel man, and I don't know what I was thinking falling in love with you." She laughs, kissing him quickly, pushing him away from the coffee machine, pulling down glasses down to place under the spout, pressing buttons. "A sandwich is really pushing it though. Wouldn't you rather just order Chinese food?"
"And clean up the mess? That takes a lot of skill, I'm impressed. Also, you'd have to deal with the regenerated me, who might not be so amiable." He nibbles a little on another chicken piece, then deftly eats a piece of broccoli.
"You'd be surprised the messes i've cleaned up. And I don't know, regenerated you might actually be more amiable, and less likely to tease me mercilessly. Though..." She stops, opening up the second box of crab rangoon and eating a piece. "I'm not sure I want to take that chance. Something about the devil you know." She leans in and kisses his cheek. "Fine, you're safe. I won't beat you to death with the phone."
"CJ's met previous me. It was...unpleasant for her, I think. And you'd have to deal with her wrath if you were to kill me." He smirks a little at her. "So if I'm safe, does that mean I get to put on a show?"
"I think that having CJ royally pissed off at me more than anything is a deterrent." She smiles, eyebrown raised, tossing her chopstick down onto her plate and leaning back into the couch. "I'm always interested in a show. Especially if you're doing it."
