You mentioned treats... a gourmet bakery, as if it is irregular for you to indulge thus... "it's passing" indicates a date of some importance, but you doubt that anyone will notice, which makes me think that it affects only you.

If the 26th is your birthday, it is Sunday and in October. Many birthdays fall in October... maybe many people fall in love in January, or at least want to stay warm...
