Good day to you all.

For those of you unfamiliar with me, I am James Madison, co-author the of Federalist papers, author of the Bill of Rights, defender of the sepearation of church and state, negociator of the Louisiana Purchase, rector of the University of Virginia, being the only founder who was not an unbearable egomaniac, and oh yes, I almost ( Read more... )

Dear Sir!
A very warm welcome to you, indeed! It's always a pleasure to meet a man
any man,
and especially a 18th century man.
There's something intriguing about men who have been in America...It seems so exotic.

Your escapades at college sound very similar to mine. It's a pity I never thought of the coat hanger idea,it sounds delightfully painful.

Personally, I wouldn't worry overmuch about the state of politicians in this strange new era. Sure, they may shoot someone from time to time, but they are certainly refreshing in comparison to complete loons like the padishah sultan 'Abd al-Hamid II, or Abdul the Fool- a much more appropriate title, I think. I was in Masyaf, once, in Syria, and this great big ugly Turk on horseback rode by and took a pot-shot at me from 200 yards maybe. A terrifying, bizarre experience! I pulled out my Mauser and managed to scare him off in the end. What an experience it is to become aware of your mortality, but I digress.

What a delight. The afterlife simply wasn't the same without your tiny, tiny presence.

Do you still regularly get mistaken as a child and patted on the head by kindly strangers?

Why thank you. I assume you are refering to the fact that I take up little room spiritually due to a life of humility and selflessness unlike your ego which seems to be the size of Jupiter. I would say something about you taking credit for some of my Federalist writings, but since I am the author of so many other brilliant works, I see no need to draw more attention to my humble self. You were always so good with the flattery.

As often as you are mistaken for an speculator instead of an adulter.

And yet I am best known as Dolley Madison's husband. *sigh*

Judging from some of the comments I have received in this community, it appears that my legacy has suffered a similar fate.

I console myself by blaming this injustice on the poor taste of the public and Fortuna's demonstrably sick sense of humor.

My legacy is a lightly sunburnt Peter O'Toole.

Oh, and the Arab Revolt, but no one seems to remember that.

I appear to not be in any movies. It seems that the rollicking 1810s that encompass my presidency are not the stuff movies are made of. Besides the War of 1812, there was little conflict but what's wrong with that? You can expect partisan politics considering I wasn't an insuffrable prick all of the other founders were.

But you're in a musical, if that's any consolation.
