Deadfriends, I just read today that Ethel Merman once said of me "That girl's got problems. Being heard isn't one of them." and I laughed... well, it wouldn't be polite to tell you what happens when I laugh that hard. And really, that's kind of a compliment comin' from ol' "Heavy Metal Ethel" herself, y'know ( Read more... )

Everyone seems to have a lot of nice things to say to me now that I'm dead, but I got plenty of fucking nasty shit back when I was kicking, believe me.

I sure wish you were still around. In days like these, humor and wisdom like yours are sorely needed.

Is there anyone here who admired me?

Nobody loves me
Everybody hates me
I guess I'll go eat worms

Your two daughters that're here certainly did - and their love and respect is important, man!

I'm the scribe for Benny Hill and Spike Milligan, and one of my favorite tunes has a mention of you in it. It's Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughn jamming on "Blues At Sunrise" and Albert's talking about one time when you, he and Jimi Hendrix were jamming on some blues. I'd love to get my hands on a recording of that night, let me tell ya.

Wow... thanks, Doc!

MAN, we did some crazy shit @ the Fillmore, and a lot of it was recorded, but I'd die all over again to have a copy of that, myself!

::pouts::

Jimi still hasn't shown up, here. What a drag.

I sure don't know him, but we've got mutual friends he and I. Coolness.

As for Jimi, I expect he's in the middle of a guitar solo. I imagine he'll be along any month now.

I'd give a lot to see Jimi again. We had some good times, you know? And MAN could he wail!

Sorry, my mistake - it's Sam, not Doc, that he knows in RL. Forgive me?

I've read that there are more books written about my career than anyone...

... except for Jesus Christ, Adolf Hitler, and Richard Nixon.

I should not complain, as I had never expected to be looked at as anything other than a Roman who obeyed the rules, and yet - fourth, to Richard Nixon?

Hitler and Nixon belong together, man - they were both bat shit fuckiin' looney toones.

You and Jesus are in classes all your own.

That's what I say.

(for some reason, my typist wants me to tell you that she's still furious over your great-nephew's treatment of your natural son by your Egyptian "wife". I don't know why she wanted me to tell you that; I don't imagine it's a happy topic of conversation for you. I'm sorry, man.)

"A disgusting little thing." - Lawrence Durrell, on T.E. Lawrence.

Whoops, I mean...

"I deem him one of the greatest beings alive in our time... We shall never see his like again. His name will live in history. It will live in the annals of war... It will live in the legends of Arabia." - Winston Churchill

Unless he was lying. You know, I think I rather like being idolized.
