I found my typist tittering away at some program and it gave me a rather thoughtful idea. Since it is difficult to know when one person or another is really on or just waiting for someone to answer I humbly suggest we use this American Online Instant Messaging Chatroom place ( Read more... )

Can we be overhead on this device? Should we speak in code? If so, which code?

It is important we settle these questions before implamenting any changes in the communications network. It is not enough to know secrecy must be maintained, it is also imparative to know how.

If we didn't - this is just an example, a made-up example, entirely off the top of my head - we might take what we think are perfectly reasonable efforts to avoid identification and wind up with one of our four mistresses laughing at us for sitting in a middle of a restaurant with big black sunglasses on.

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

Please tell my typist to stop snickering and saying 'Oh, score! I almost forgot about that one!'

It isn't a speaking device it's more of a communication device. My typist assures me that one can not be "overheard" unless you are invited. You must "invite someone" in order for them to listen in. It's quite a marvelous tool. I've seen my typist hold main conversations, called Buddy Chats, with friends as far as England and France while still being able to hold side conversations, an IM chat, with others. She says it's perfectly safe from the "Gestapo" whatever that is. Apparently the only secrecy one needs is the hope that nobody tells what the other person said.

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

*smiles* My typist has told me of your...adventures. Yes, hypothetically speaking, there's very little chance you could call attention to yourself without specifically knowing.
