50 Shot in Chicago on St Patrick's Day Weekend. Newsworthy?

Mar 21, 2012 17:35

O'Reilly just reported that there was 'St Patrick's Day Massacre' of sorts more lethal than the infamous St Valentine's Day Version in the Capone era.

I heard exactly NOTHING from the media this week and had to google it to learn he was talking about 2012. Yes it did happen,

Chicago St. Pats anonymous March 22 2012, 00:59:37 UTC
This year in Chicago was a St Pats trifecta:

First, St Patrick's Day always a results in a huge holiday celebration there b/c of the large Irish population and the longstanding celebration rituals (ex. Southside Irish parade, dying the Chicago River Green for the day, etc.). Second, St Pat's landed on Saturday--party night. And third, the weather was in the 80s, a historic high, which in March is enough to send people right over the euphoric edge.

So I think the trimple whammy might have made people here a little craz craz.
