Woah, Wabasha is the part of MN you're in? It's so gorgeous up there! I led a Habitat for Humanity trip to Winona spring break of 2005. We went to Wabasha on our day off and tried on kimonos :)

But I bet it's a fairly conservative area. Although they do really care about the environment...

it's part of the area that i'm in charge of. i have house districts 28a (red wing, lake city, wabasha) and 34a and 34b (west of the twin cities)

it is someone conservative, esp west of the cities, but i'm finding my pockets of dflers. it's been a fun time, and definately a bit of a change for me, since i'm used to being in the city, where you have to go out of your way to find gopers.
