so today in my class, this really overweight girl dropped the phrase "skinny bitch" during a discussion, directing it at the skinny girls in class (of which i am one). then, the chubby girl behind me said "ouch... that's harsh. just kidding, i hate skinny bitches too," to me

Say something like, "Have fun with diabetes/hypertension/the inability to reach your taint without a helper stick"?

Or even better: "I'd respond to that, but other people are using up all the air I need to speak."

It's too bad the teacher had to join in... the best way to deal with such negativity is to dismiss it ("Yeah, that's interesting... so ANYWAY...), or laugh at it, because they take it SO seriously.

I mean, people can be a little overweight and be totally fine from a health perspective, but to glorify (and in turn denigrate) others for extremes of poundage is just ridiculous.
