Tonight's Glee was so gorram good.
I mean, I think the whole "music video" feel of the hallucinations was so epic and wonderful, and Brittany and Santana were so hot, and we saw some good Will character building and it was wonderful.
The only real downside of the episode, for me, was that one of my current fave songs,
Paramore's "The Only Exception," was sung by one of the only characters I've ever in my life actually hated.
She's really bringing the show down for me, because she's such a central character so she's always in it, but she never grows. Any step forward in her character is immediately followed by twelve steps back! I don't get it. So many people like her, so I keep giving her chances, but every episode I hate her more. I mean, look at her in this episode. She was seriously trying to keep Finn from something he loved. Her justification was FLIMSY AND SELF-CENTERED, at best. And sure, she "grew" at the end of the episode, but I guaran-damned-tee that she'll be right back to where she was by next week.
I really do not understand. I have literally never hated a character more. I mean, I have villains I don't like because they're villains, but I don't hate them - they serve their purpose. I hate her as a character, and I hate her character, so it's equally bad. Just.
Rachel, this is for you (not spoiler related, I've felt this about her the whole show):
Okay. I think I have that momentarily out of my system.
SO. NEXT WEEK.
Does anybody else think next week's is going to make them cry like a cry-y thing? Also, why religion? I mean, I like a lot of religious music, so I just hope they pull it off in a non-preachy way, if you catch my drift.
Also, Puck singing
"Only the Good Die Young" is going to be the best thing ever -- probably one of my favorite Glee songs. Mark Salling is my favorite Glee singer, and he doesn't get nearly enough solos.
