"Hell Vs Heaven (I Against I)"

Here's a new song I came up with tonight. Gonna work on the beats later - something heavy and fast with a mix of Latin and Jamaican hip-hop and techno-driven metal, all accompanied by an orchestral background. Sound complex? You betcha!

Impressive. I love the chorus, but this verse:

All I dreamed and all I have
Is pride and greed before my path.
I sought His favor and was denied,
And cast aside before my time!
The pain of separation cries;
Without His grace, I'm the Lord of Lies!
So damn my soul and I'll take yours too.
And soon they'll finally see the truth!

*that's* my favorite. I'm always fascinated by the use of religious imagery in your music. You use it well.

This one is amazing. I'd love to hear it when it's finished.

Thank you. After not receiving any response at all from the graphics I made recently and posted on the Halo5 forum, I was kind of disappointed and didn't think I would post any more in there (any more creative stuff, I mean. Not in general). But I definitely appreciate your comments here.

Obviously, the whole song is nothing *but* religious imagery. :) But yeah, I guess I *do* use it a lot, don't I? The irony is that the last two songs I wrote (you haven't seen 'em yet) are virtually the same theme as the one in this song - each unique, but with the same religious theme in them too. Maybe I'll post those here later.

But I dunno... maybe recent events in my life have made me take a long hard look at my longstanding absence of faith. Or maybe I just like the imagery and strong response such a topic tends to stimulate and provoke in each person. Maybe a little of both.

Y'know, that's not such a bad thing. Take it from me. Believe it or don't, it got me through some really, really bad shit in my life.

But you know what I always say....to each his own. :)

Yeah, I know. It's given me a lot of pause for thought, to say the least.

Y'know, I've known you for years and I've never seen you say that. :) Though now I have, I guess. :)
