The IMF doesn't just stand for International Monetary Fund anymore.

I have satellite television service, which comes with 100 channels, at least 50 of which are pure crap.  Fortunately, there is a "Favorites" feature that lets viewers set their own channel lists, and I have made good use of that feature.  The one problem is, on the odd occasion a ( Read more... )

Oooh, cool. This is a satellite-only station, I gather...

But I was actually going to e-mail you today, and hey, it fits your post, too. *g* I've been downloading the vids from this year's Vividcon, and there's one in particular that I want to point you toward -- Woman King.

It's a Deadwood vid, but more important, it's an Alma vid. Having only seen a couple of random episodes, I don't know the show well enough to say anything more than it seemed really, really right to me. And I totally thought of you.

Thanks for the vid-link! That was awesome - so well done. It totally makes me crave more Deadwood. Alma is one of my favorite characters in that story. She is a tough lady in a very tough town, who has managed to do quite well for herself. She even faced down Ian McShane's Al Swearingen, the second scariest guy in the story (Powers Boothe's Cy Tolliver wins the Crazed Psycho slot but just by a hair).

Yeah, right now IMF is only available through Dish Network and a couple other satellite outlets, but I gather they'd be happy to be available more widely. I'd love to see them do well, if only to remind the corporate music suits what music on television should look like.

Thanks again for the vid link. It really perked up a boring Friday afternoon at the office!
