It was still such a shock to Heather that she scored a date with Carver Edlund or his real name, Chuck. She always liked to imagine what her favorite author was like and to know he was such an amazing guy, well, it's like that famous quote, Carpe Diem and that's just what she did by asking him out to dinner to this fancy little restaurant near her

He felt okay about it; He only ever used even a fraction of the power that was His for the little things. It kept Him rooted, and grounded in things like nervously adjusting His tie while waiting for Heather to show up. And He was nervous. He made sure to keep the whole "omniscient" thing out of most of His life path; things were infinitely more exciting, in a distant kind of way that He mostly didn't remember when trying to find clean socks and ordering pizza in his bathrobe ( ... )
