[Public] These shoes suck... these shoes rule! A story in pictures

These shoes are 300 fucking dollars! (if you don't know what I'm talking about, go watch this ridiculous video that has become a staple among my fiancé's friends... really just start watching at 1:15 or so)

My favorite shoes. Very similar styles - And I wore them with jeans, but I also wore them with skirts or slacks. Very versatile, and very comfortable.

But sadly, shortly after arriving for my summer internship, BOTH pairs broke in the same way. Maybe I walk funny :( Now they go "fwop fwop fwop" when I walk, but I can't bear to throw them away until I've found suitable replacements.

Since a huge percentage of my wardrobe is brown, I needed another pair of brown shoes. I went to a mall with a co-worker one Saturday about a month ago, and we looked in every shoe store we could find, but didn't find any shoes that were good replacements. I really needed brown shoes, though, so I got these on sale for $27. They have comfy squishy insides and are cute anyway. But turns out that when it gets hot (which it has) they don't breathe, my feet sweat ridiculous amounts, turn brown from the dye and get lots of blisters (though I got no blisters for 3 weeks of wearing them, just once it was over 100 out).

So last weekend I went to Filene's basement, and found these absolutely AMAZING shoes. They are stylish (I think), and I believe they can go with jeans just as well as they went with my cute skirt this week. They do have a heel and poor traction, but eh. It's a wedge so I do ok walking. And LOTS of toe room so no blisters. Oh, and the insides are made by Dr. Schol's so they are super comfy. Yay! Plus, they were on sale for $25.

I also got these shoes at Filene's Basement. I think they are super cute and could be dressy or casual. When I put them on the store and walked up the aisle for 30 seconds, they seemed comfy. But when I wore them for the 20 minutes getting ready for work the next morning, they were already hurting my feet and getting blisters. Definitely NOT comfy enough for the $63 I paid for them! So I went back to Filene's today and returned them...

Besides - I already have this pair of black shoes. Definitely not as cute as the ones above, but comfortable and don't hurt my feet. Not quite as versatile, I guess... not really jeans shoes, but eh. They'll be ok for now, I guess.

But one thing I haven't found in all my travels is a pair of cute strappy white shoes. I have a white skirt, a mostly white dress with flowers, white pants... and very dark colored shoes. So I've been wanting some of these. After returning the shoes this morning, I went to Famous Footwear to see what I could find. Actually the pair pictured here is a pair I fell in love with, but they don't fit me right. The back has a buckle, but no elastic, and even though my foot fits in, the strap doesn't even REACH the buckle, let alone put the little thing into the hole. I tried the size 9 which my feet were swimming in (I usually wear 6) and still the buckle barely fit around :( So instead...

This cute little pair of shoes was on sale for just under $20. They're definitely not jeans shoes, but eh. Cute. But they had black on them, which meant I wouldn't want to wear them with earthy toned shirts...

So I also got this pair, which has brown stitching and bottoms. They're super cute too, and more summery, I think. They were on sale, not quite as good, but $35. So I paid less for these two pairs of white shoes than I did for the one pair of black ones. I guess I did ok. But I still want some strappy sandals. And am still not happy enough to throw away my old favorites :(

When did I turn into someone who cares about shoes?!
