The Dark Knight Review

Jul 21, 2008 21:45

OK so I did see The Dark Knight for the midnight show on Thurs. night or Fri. morning. Yes!! It was so awesome and I have so many comments on this movie, but they are spoilery so I am going to cut it.

OK first off, I have to say that Heath was absolutely amazing and if he doesn't get an Oscar nomination then I am seriously going to start a ruckus or something in memory of Heath because for anyone that has seen it, he was absolutely amazing. I mean there are just no other words to describe it. He did such a wonderful job with this character. I could not believe this maniac on the movie was our loveable Heath, except for the fact that he was simply sexy as he always was, which makes me wish everyday that he was still here with us.

Anyway...I read an article in People that said that people think that Heath kept to himself and stuff in between takes while filming the movie because of the toll this movie took on him and the role, but it wasn't so. They said that on-camera he was crazy, but in between he was the same loving and sweet guy that he always was. I can believe that, I just see him as being that way. He never really ever thought of himself as a heartthrob or anything like that.

Let's see...the movie starts off with a bunch of guys, like mob men and stuff meeting up and then you see all of these guys coming out dressed like Batman. You are kind of like WTF? But then the more that you watch you realize that at the end of the first movie, there were guys that had escaped from Arkham asylum and were never caught, well these are the guys that are out there dressing like Batman and one of them revealed is Cillian Murphy (aka Dr. Jonathan Crane) from Batman Begins. I was so happy to see him if only for a few minutes. I loved him in the first movie. I am a sucker for the bad guys, can't help myself. Don't get me wrong, I love Christian Bale, but the others, WOW!!!

Anyway...the next scene you see some guys robbing a bank. They are all talking about the guy that set it up. A freak that wears make up and calls himself the Joker, but he isn't ever there robbing the bank with them. Well one by one, they are all told to take each other out. At one point or another in the whole robbing of the Bank. Well anyway...one of the guys, the only left besides The Joker.

Guy ~ "I bet he told you to kill me"
Joker ~ "No, he told me to kill the bus driver"
Guy ~ "What bus driver?"

Then a school bus backs into the Bank and runs him over. That was awesome!

The part where they are discussing who is the Batman. They display a wall of possible suspects for who Batman is. I loved it, it had Elvis, Abraham Lincoln and Sasquatch.

OK...love the very scene where the Joker first shows up with the Mob guys. They are all sitting around a table and he just strolls in and proposes a deal with them, even after he was the one that robbed their banks. They are not happy to see him.

Joker ~ "Would you like to see a magic trick?" He pulls out a pencil and sets it up on end. They are not amused.
One of the guys gets pissed and tells one of his men to kill him. He goes after the Joker and he pushes his face into the pencil and kills the guy. He does it just too funny.

Anyway...one of the guys offers $500 reward for The Joker dead and $1000 alive. Well in a later scene, you see some of The Joker's men carrying him in and he is supposedly dead. He says he wishes he was alive, but they earned the $500. Then The Joker sits up and well he kills him. He asks who wants to join him. The only thing is, there are 3 of them and only one opening. He breaks apart a pool stick and says "There are try outs. Make it quick" lmao

Some of my other fave parts, when they are having the little fundraiser for Harvey Dent and The Joker shows up. Yes, too awesome. I love how he just waltzes around there. So he has Rachel over the edge and Bruce tells him to let her go. Joker ~ "Poor choice of words"

I love it!

OK...so when Harvey tells everyone that he is Batman, well the Joker chases them down and uses a couple different guns to take him out in the armored car. No can do! The one cop says that they are going to need something bigger, he pulls out a bazooka, OMG too funny.

So well he finally becomes the one driving the semi and plays chicken with Batman on his bike. I love how he flips the semi and The Joker falls out of the truck. He can barely stand when he does.

So they finally get him and put him in jail. So that is when they reveal that Gordon is still alive, so they tell him that he has been promoted to Commissioner Gordon, everyone starts clapping. I love how The Joker claps too, too funny!

So then they are questioning him. He doesn't say much! Then they have Batman do it for them. It was funny how he tells him that they need each other cause they are the same, they need someone besides all the low life criminals out there. Batman needs The Joke.

So anyway...he asks him where Harvey is cause they realize that he is missing. Well...he asks what time it is and he says to tell them and he says depending on the time, it is whether he is in one place or several. So he reveals that he has to choose between saving Rachel and saving Harvey. Bruce desides to save Rachel. Did the Joker purposely tell him where Harvey and Rachel were backwards knowing that he would go after Rachel? I swear he did.

So anyway...after he leaves then The Joker keeps asking about a phone call. The one cop that is in the room, he starts talking to him. He talks about getting to know people when they are dying on who the cowards are or not and he asks how many of his cop friends he killed. He says six. I love how The Joker kind of lips it back to him. It looked so funny.

Well that pisses the guy off when he asks if he wants to know who the cowards were. Well he uses him as a means to escape. He walks him out with a knife to his throat and they ask him what he wants. Joker ~ "I just want my phone call". That was great!

Well...Rachel dies and Harvey is saved by Bruce, but half of him is burned from the oil getting onto him. Two-Face is born.

So anyway...when Harvey is in the hospital and Joker offers money to kill the one guy that works at Bruce's company so he won't reveal who Batman is. He always says that he is going to blow up a hospital if he is not killed by a certain time. Well they evacuate the hospital except for Harvey and I love how The Joker comes in and is dressed as a nurse. He is so dang funny. I thought that was so awesome!

Well he pretty much tells Harvey that some cops tricked him and they were the ones that took Rachel and him and tied them up to kill them. So he plots his revenge on them.

Well The Joker leaves and after he leaves the room, he sanitizes his hands, lmao. As he is walking from the hospital he sets off the bomb. Part of it blows up and then it stops, he pushes the button on the detonator several times and shrugs his shoulders, then it completely blows up after he gives up! ROFLMAO! That was too awesome!

A few other funny parts, at the end with the Joker, the Joker tells Batman that by some reason he can't kill him cause of his morals and The Joker can't kill Batman cause he is just too much fun. That part was the best!

Also, when the guy says he wants to blackmail Bruce to not tell everyone that he is Batman to Lucius Fox. He brings up the fact that he is a billionaire that dresses up and has all these special weapons and he wants to blackmail him? That was too funny!

Also, when Bruce says that he is going to turn himself in. He tells Alfred that he is going to tell them that it was all Alfred's idea. LOL

OK...I have to say that Heath, Christian, Aaron Eckert and Gary Oldman, to name a few, did an awesome job. Not only one, but all of them. I found that all of the cast made this movie amazing. The acting in this movie was just exceptional. I didn't know much about Aaron. I had heard about him, but wow loved him too!

I am so glad that I got the chance to see this movie in the first day twice! Besides the midnight showing, I saw it at 1pm on Friday too! So awesome!

Anyway...if you get the chance, this movie is a must see!
