Hi! I'm not sure I'm posting in the right place, but here's my question : I looked up the schedule, and I'm wondering what exactly is meant by 'summaries are due'.
Is it like... a 1,000 word outline of the whole plot? A 5 line paragraph on what it'll be about?
It's not a life threatening issue, but you know... curious.
Thanks! Good luck, this seems like a lot of work to organize!
I have some questions pertaining to the DeanCasBB and was hoping you could help me. I am a massive Livejournal N00B and this will be my first time participating in something like this so I was hoping that you might be able to clear up some questions for me?
Drafts
Is the draft supposed to be the whole story roughed out? (This seems strange if this is visible to everyone because surely the finished story is supposed to be a surprise to the readers?) my story is turning into quite the monster so I’m not sure I’ll even have the whole thing drafted by the drafting deadline...and also, where are we supposed to post the drafts?
Beta’s -this is probably a stupid question, but what’s the best way to go about finding a good beta? I am a grammatical disaster area so need to ensure I can find someone who is strict but also understands the tone of what I am trying to achieve. Do I just ask around?
Thank you SO much for taking the time to read this,
Drafts: The answer to this question is actually in the FAQ (for future reference, it might be a good idea to read through it and leave any questions you have there :3). I'll copy and paste for you:
Q: What should my fic be like [in terms of completion] by the rough draft due date? A: Your fic must be nearing completion and have achieved it's minimum word length, depending on which side of the challenge you've chosen to participate in. As this is a rough draft due date, your fics don't have to be perfect, beta'd, or ready to be posted on the site at this time.
This seems strange if this is visible to everyone because surely the finished story is supposed to be a surprise to the readers? I don't think we're following the same line of thinking. The draft is supposed to be emailed to the mods at DeanCasBigBangMod @ gmail.com
Concerning Betas/Alphas/Cheerleaders: Originally, we'd planned to have a "claiming" post similar to the art claims. We'll be unable to do this, however, due to the significant lack of sign-ups for Alphas, Betas,
( ... )
My Mini-Bang entry is turning into a small comic (around 13 pages)! Is it ok to post a preview page and a download for the art, or would you rather I make a photobucket account and post all the pages at once?
Umm, I'm not sure what you mean? If you're making art for your author, you're not permitted to post your art until your assigned posting date. On that assigned posting date, we'd like you to make your art easily accessible and viewable for anyone keen on checking it out... so, I suppose it would be a good idea to use Photobucket or imageshack. ;)
I am signed up for the bigbang and was happily working along at a fic and inspiration struck and I've since written something MUCH better with a different summary as it is not fair to someone who selects the art for a different story can I change my summary please believe me this one is much better than the one i was forcing out practically at knifepoint it's still noirish but a completely different story.

For future reference, we prefer questions be asked at our FAQ or via PM (it's easier to keep track of that way). :)
