More books, books, books ... plus some Christmas stuff

Mmmmm. All the busy-ness is over until January. I've been to four states in the last two weeks (not counting the ones I just stopped in for layovers), but I'm home now; I only have a couple of gift cards left to buy before I'm done with the shopping for people I'll see on or before Christmas; and I'm wearing cute new red and white pajamas (even ( Read more... )

I am so glad to have finally found SOMEONE who agrees with me on the *having* of books. I like them to live with me, in case I need them again. And so that I can loan them to people. And just reread ad nauseum.

Merry Christmas to you, too! Let me know about The Zookeeper's Wife.

I really enjoyed The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society book!

And I give you credit for posting about reading - it was one of my resolutions for 2009 and I did a pretty crappy job at it. Though maybe I'll pick up the slack before the end of the year.

Meanwhile, tonight I bought Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay as a Christmas present for myself.

Happy reading!

I have this wonderful Reader's Journal that my sister gave me a few Christmases ago because I'd been salivating over it at some little kitsch shop and because I was still a reporter and had no money for such frivolity. And I never use it. I dutifully filled in the first ... mmmm, maybe 10 books I read after I got it. And then nothing. I need to start doing that again. It's good because it has blanks for how you chose the book, other similar books this one might make you want to read, favorite quotes, things like that.

I've not heard of Sara's Key. Should I check it out?
