Am I the only person who thought the Sam and Dean "we time" (I soooo love that) scene HAD to be a dream cause it was just TOO good? I was honestly expecting one of them to suddenly wake up in the bunker and go get some more whiskey

I LOVED the 'we-time' comment because it (and you) basically summed up exactly how I feel about the boys - for me, they are non-romantic soulmates and even though I head canon them settling down one day and retiring from hunting (rather than the dreaded 'going out in a blaze of glory') I always see them accepting that their futures are each other, and totally being okay with that. :)
oh, you have no idea how much I WISH they will retire one day, instead of both dying.... *sobs* BUT if we can't have that on the show (It'll be MY head canon though), at least we'll forever have this wonderful scene. You're absolutely right, once they have each other, they don't really need anything or anyone else. They've just been through TOO much, no other could understand. *hugs that scene tight* I also demand that they were sunglasses in at least one scene of each ep from now on. ^^ From a fandom POV, soul mates to me definitely is wincesty:), but from the show POV, it's them letting the world burn, breaking promises and bending all the rules to save each other, cause no matter the cost, Sam and Dean will always choose ech other over anything and anyone. The fact that they're so irrationally co-dependent makes their story so interesting and powerful and I love every crazy bit of it. sorry for the rant!! ;)
Personally, wincest isn't my thing (although my favourite SPN fanfic, bar none is The Bright Lights of Disturbia, so I can read it when it's done so well). I'm totally with you - I think everything they've been through has ruined them for other people, so they'll always choose each other (which I'm TOTALLY fine with!).
Come to think of it, all the WIP fics I've got going on, all share that as a central theme...
I love that we've got two brothers in their thirties who, even in the canon, wouldn't dream of getting separate motel rooms for instance. Their co-dependency is definitely what makes them interesting to watch!
