Impulse
Jensen stopped in the restroom before heading to his meeting with the new boss, Jared Padalecki. He checked his hair, straightened his tie, and smoothed his shirt and suit jacket. There wasn't much he could do about his pale face and puffy eyes. He took a final deep calming breath before leaving the restroom and heading down the hall. He talked with Bela, Jared's administrative assistant, for a moment before heading into his boss's office. Jared was sitting behind his desk typing on his laptop keyboard. He looked up and smiled when Jensen walked in.
“Have a seat, Jensen. It'll only take me a minute to finish this email.” Jared said then returned to typing.
Jensen sat down, but shifted nervously in his chair. He felt like he'd been called into the principal's office and he didn't like that feeling. He thought maybe he should just explain that it had been his Birthday and he'd drank too much and gotten a little crazy. Jared finished what he was doing and looked at Jensen again. “I can explain.” Jensen started.
“There's nothing to explain. You took a risk and it paid off. It's brilliant!” Jared exclaimed.
Jensen's mouth dropped open as he tried to wrap his head around his boss's reaction. “I...so...you liked it?” The younger man stammered as his heart pounded in his chest.
“You're damn right I did. It was hot, fresh, sexy and just what I'm looking for.” Jared declared with a dimpled smile.
“I won't tell anyone, Mr. Padalecki. This can stay between us.” Jensen said as he tried to keep his breathing even.
“Don't be ridiculous! I want everyone to know about this.” Jared said as he stood up and started to walk around his desk.
“Everyone, sir?” Jensen asked feeling like he might start to hyperventilate.
“The time has come to push the boundaries and conquer our fears. We're going to go for it, Jensen!” Jared was standing beside him now looking down at him intently.
“I'm not sure how to respond to that, sir.” Jensen replied as he looked up at Jared with wide startled eyes.
Jared squeezed Jensen's shoulder gently. “I'm trying to tell you that I loved the graphic work you did on the Soleil swim suit ad campaign.”
“I'm working on the new graphics for the campaign now. I did some mock ups but Mr. Kripke, our old boss, didn't seem impressed with my work.” Jensen said, still a little confused by this turn of events.
“I like the direction you're taking with the campaign.” Jared stated as he went back to sit behind his desk.
“Mr. Kripke said that it was a bit too...” Jensen trailed off not wanting to finish.
“Gay?” Jared finished for him with a raised eyebrow and a grin.
Jensen blushed and looked down at the floor. “He said it was too much sex.”
“Well, I'm in charge now and this approach is exactly what we need. Sex sells and we want to seduce the consumer into buying. Mr. Beaver is in business to sell swimsuits and underwear not flannel snuggies. We want the Soleil brand to appeal to gay males who have sex on their mind constantly. We also want the straight ladies who like to see a little eye candy and sexually objectify men. Straight guys have been doing it forever, now it's the ladies turn! We want to make a bold statement about freedom of sexual expression. You can help me do that, Jensen.” Jared proclaimed as he stared at the blond with intense blue green eyes.
Jensen stared at him unable to come up with a coherent comment.
Jared got up again and Jensen couldn't help but look at his crotch and wonder what kind of underwear he was wearing.
“I'm putting you in charge of the Soleil account, Jensen. We are gonna own this market.” Jared declared confidently.
“You want me to take over the account?” Jensen asked in wide eyed disbelief.
“Yes. Put your team together today and give me the list tomorrow morning.”
“Yes, sir. I'll have it on your desk first thing.” Jensen said and stood up. “Thank you for this opportunity, Mr. Padalecki.
“I want to see an initial presentation in two weeks. Set the meeting time with Bela on your way out.”
“I will.” Jensen said and headed for the door feeling like he'd just dodged a bullet.
“I'll expect to have a meeting with your team by week's end. This account is our top priority right now.” Jared said with a sense of urgency in his deep voice.
“I understand, sir. I'll take care of it.”
Jensen walked towards his office feeling out of sorts. Not only had Jared not mentioned seeing him at the club, he'd put him in charge of his own ad campaign. He could barely believe his luck that his boss didn't recognize him. He couldn't believe he'd been so panicked over nothing! Jensen had just gotten settled behind his desk when Misha breezed in and sat on the corner of his desk.
“I want all the details! What did he say?” Misha demanded looking at his friend with sparkling blue eyes.
“He put me charge of the Soleil swim suit account.” Jensen said softly as he looked up at the ebony haired man.
“Are you serious? Did you blow him?” Misha demanded.
“Yes, I'm serious and no, I didn't blow him! He didn't recognize me, thank god!” Jensen said shaking his head.
“Maybe he's discreet and he didn't want to mention it at work.” Misha said with a knowing grin.
“I prefer to believe that he was as wasted as I was and didn't recognize me at all.” Jensen said firmly.
“Whatever gets you through the night, Jense. I just find it hard to believe he had you mostly naked on his lap and on top of him on the floor and didn't remember it.”
“Oh, stop it! Maybe he does remember, but he's too polite to rub my face in it.”
“Maybe, he's deeply closeted and he's hoping you don't remember.” Misha countered.
“Whatever the case, I'm excited that he's our new boss. He's dynamic, willing to take risks and a total hunk. I'm just so happy to have my own account! I want you on my team, Mish. You've got the best eye for layouts and colors. We are gonna wow Jared with our presentation!”
“All you would have to do is show up wearing one of those skimpy Soleil swim suits. That would definitely wow him!” Misha teased as he stood up to leave.
Jensen waved his friend away and went to work on picking his new ad team. He was whistling as he drew up the list. Jensen was looking forward to working some late nights with Jared.
He didn't see much of his new boss that first week and he was nervous during the Friday meeting with Jared and his Soleil team. It was a relief when Jared sent him an email after the meeting complimenting him on his team and their preliminary ad mock ups. Jensen read the email several times smiling hugely. He couldn't be happier with how things were going with the Soleil swim suit account and his new boss.

Another week passed and Jensen was in his office on Friday afternoon when Jared walked in unexpectedly. “I'd like to talk with you for a moment, if you're not too busy.” The tall man said as he closed the door behind him.
“I'm never too busy to talk to you, sir.” Jensen said greeting his boss with a warm smile.
“I'd appreciate it if you'd call me Jared.” The dark haired man said as he took a seat across from the blond.
Jensen could smell his cologne and it was intoxicating. He liked how Jared's hair had fallen over his forehead and how he had his tie off and shirt sleeves rolled up. He thought Jared looked positively edible and unconsciously licked his lips at the thought. He was imagining what the older man would look like stripped down to his underwear with a raging hard on. Damn, the man was sexy!
“Jensen, are you with me?” Jared leaned forward and asked as he took in the other man's thousand yard stare and slightly dazed expression.
“Yeah. Sorry. It's been a long, busy week. I guess I kind of zoned out there.” Jensen said as a deep flush rose up his neck and pinked his cheeks.
“I understand completely. I just dropped in to apologize for not meeting with you earlier this week. I'm still getting settled in here and my schedule is crazy right now.”
“No problem, sir, I mean, Jared. I've been using the time to really concentrate on working with my team on the Soleil account. We've gotten a lot accomplished.”
“Good. I appreciate your dedication. I'm going to schedule some after hour meetings starting Monday so we can review the progress on the new presentation. Mr. Beaver wants a top notch dog and pony show in two weeks. He's expecting us to knock his socks off. I'd like you to come to California with me to make the pitch.” Jared said with a smile.
“Are you sure, sir, uh, Jared?” Jensen looked like Bambi caught in the headlights at the suggestion of traveling with his boss.
“Would that be a problem for you?” Jared asked with an arched brow.
“Of course not! I'm just surprised. I'd be happy to make the pitch with you.” Jensen finished with a grin.
“I'm looking forward to it too, Jensen. You're doing an amazing job. Enjoy your weekend and get plenty of rest.” Jared said as he stood up. “I'll see you Monday evening in my office.” Then, he walked out the door.
Misha popped in a few minutes later to see if Jensen was still going to meet him at the Winchester Pub for happy hour.
Jensen met his gaze with a slightly dazed expression. “I'm going to California.” He said in a dreamy low voice.
“The hell you say! I thought we were going to happy hour! What gives?” Misha demanded looking put out.
“Of course we're going to happy hour. Jared is taking me to California to do the Soleil presentation in a couple weeks.”
“Oh, so now you're on a first name basis. Did you blow him right here in your office? Tell me everything!” Misha asked with an arched brow.
“I didn't blow him! Why do you always ask that?” Jensen said exasperatedly as he looked at his friend.
“I like the mental image I get of you blowing the boss. You gotta admit that would be hot!” Misha exclaimed with a wicked grin.
“I won't deny that I've thought about it. He is really hot.” Jensen said softly as he pictured Jared in his mind.
“Don't sell yourself short, Jense. You're hot too and congratulations on going to California. I know you're gonna make a splash! Now, let's get going.”
Jensen followed Misha out of his office and down the hall to the elevator.
“I'll be staying after work with Jared next week.” Jensen said with a happy grin.
“Why? Cause you've been a naughty boy and he has to punish you?” Misha teased and smacked Jensen on the ass.
Jensen jumped and smacked his friend on the shoulder. “No, you dork! We'll be working on the presentation together.”
Misha suddenly turned serious in the elevator. “Are you falling for him, Jense?”
“Maybe. Who could blame me? He's smart, sexy, and successful.”
“You really don't know anything about the man, Jense. Just promise me you'll be careful. You're my best friend and I don't want you to get hurt.” Misha looked at the taller man with genuine concern in his deep blue eyes.
The elevator doors opened and both men walked out to get in their cars.
“I'll be fine, Mish. I'll see you at the pub.” Jensen said, smiling at the older man.
“Last one there buys the first round!” Misha yelled, sprinted to his car and roared out onto the street.
Jensen shook his head and laughed. As he drove, at a more sedate pace to the pub, he daydreamed about making out with Jared in his office.
