Gosh the Nexus sign is awfully bright for April tonight. She shields her eyes before asking her question. "How can someone find something that can't be seen, can't be heard, can't be touched, or can't be traced?"

"I could really use a starting point to get me on the right path."

It's funny April should ask that question, in light of Arthur's situation.

He looks around in a state of shock, as if he's just been yanked from somewhere important. In fact he has a torch in hand.

He blinks. "If you find out, let me know."

"You seem upset Arthur."

"Merlin is...I've just...he's frozen." Arthur stumbles over his words, lowering his torch slightly.

"What...what's happened to you?"

"Frozen in stone? In ice? In his body?" Some clarification can help.

April pauses at his question. Really there is no easy way to explain her situation, especially to someone she considers a friend. Especially when that friend is suspicious of magic.

"I am seeking part of my soul."

Arthur takes a deep breath, April is right.

"Ghosts...there's a tear in the veil between the worlds and they are attacking the living. Their attacks leave people frozen to death." He pauses for a moment. "Merlin managed to survive...but only just. The idiot tried to stop one of the ghosts by attacking it."

He takes another deep breath, then frowns. "Your soul? How is that possible?"

"Ghosts are never good." April would suggest her help, but it would include magic.

"I was in a fight with great evil, and sort of... lost part of it."

"No they're not," Arthur shakes his head, then sets his jaw. "The only way it can be stopped is a sacrafice." It's not difficult to read between the lines of that.

He looks a little worried and concerned. "There are creatures in your world that can do that? Are you all right?"

"I am assuming that sacrifice must come from you." April really wishes she could help.

"Yes. My soul helped reclaim the lives of three lost souls. And now I am missing part of myself."

"Its hard."

Arthur smiles wryly and nods. "Such is the duty a prince has to his kingdom." He's not afraid, but his heart aches when he thinks of Guinevere.

He sets his torch into a convenienently placed brasier and steps over to put a comforting hand on April's shoulder. "I'm sorry, I can't imagine losing a piece of myself like that. Do you have any ideas at all as to how to find it again?"

"No. That is why I am here. To look for answers."

Arthur considers this for quite a while, before finally making a suggestion. "Do you know what piece it is?"

"What piece of my soul? No. Not really. And slowly I am losing the rest of it. Unless I find some way to correct the problem."

Arthur might start to tap his bottom lip with his forefinger, it helps him to think.

"Do you think you might need to go on some sort of quest?" That's where Arthur's mind goes at times like this.

"If that is what I must do, I will. But I just don't know." April is feeling a little lost right now.
