I'm still not done writing up my Egypt memoirs. Although I feel like there's no sense in posting it because Ben and Kathy's were both so thorough and gave everyone such a complete idea of the trip that mine wouldn't add anything

I would like to read yours too, gives different perspectives. Can't wait for your pictures too!
I felt that way with Europe too and so I went to London for almost a month. By 2 weeks in I was ready to go back home. Silly things kept getting to me. Just wasn't for me. I also hated living in NYC too, so maybe it is just a city thing. I would love to have a house in MV or some nice European countryside to visit for a month or so at a time and relax.
See, I feel like I would feel much more at home in a more rural environment. Cities are too Americanized and the people that live there usually live a lifestyle similar to the one we are used to. I want something completely different. The lifestyle of those from America, even tho they may not have as much in terms of money or material possessions, seems less stressful and more laid back. They have what they have and they love what they love and do what they do and they are perfectly happy with that.
That is partially why I moved to SRQ. I thought it would be more simple even though it is a city, but not as crowded. It is a little easier, but only cause it is less crowded so it is not my perfect town from sleeping with the enemy.
Still, I do long for somewhere even more simple, but on a part time basis. My father went stir crazy living full time in MV. I just need to get away more often! Another reason I love cruises, because you are forced to just relax and no go go go...
I know we have talked about this before. I feel exactly the same way you do. I don't ever feel relieved to be home ever. Granted, I don't like living in hotels and when I do come home from vacations I do miss my own bathroom or my comfy bed but I don't ever miss being away from NJ or the area I live in

And maybe living somewhere else would make me appreciate where I live more, and maybe not. But I think it would be the best experience of my life. I may call you tonight. I wanted to tell you about the trip anyway.
See, it's not even that I do not like America or anything. I love this country and the way of life. I would just like to experience something else too, just to see what it is like. To always carry that with me. I am getting to a very zen point in my life for whatever reason, and I totally think that a different lifestyle would complement my zen life.
