I just watched this series too! I now want to see the live-action. The finger puppets drove me nuts. At least L had a thing for sugar - that's understandable.

Though...don't boys hit puberty around 14-15...?

I stopped being interested in Death Note after L died. I was like, "L dies!? And gets REPLACEMENTS!?!? Not possible, I refuse this asshattery." That's why I recommend people watch the movie instead of read the manga (a piece of advice very unusual for me to give), because it encapsulates all the greatness of Death Note without going overlong and without L REPLACEMENTS, WTF. LIKE THAT IS EVEN POSSIBLE.

I second this- though in the film Light's a total asshole, rather than just a Magnificent Bastard, which I don't like so much. :S
