SDMB and lots of random

Happy Halloween, ladies! I hope you get candy, and pumpkins, and beautiful fall weather, and various ghouls around your downtown area, and scary movies, and candles, and everything wonderful that is Halloween. It's one of my top three holidays of the year, and I'm missing it in the jungle where no one even wants to come play zombies with me. But ( Read more... )

Isn't it awesome to have something fun like that to anticipate? :)

I so need to start *reading* SDMB's now that mine has been posted. Free time, where are you???

These challenges with all the fics and all the art, they really are the best :D

And I just did a double-take, like, how did I miss your SDMB being posted? *puts on the to-read list* That one sounded good! I can't remember what the hell distracted me from giving it a try that day. I haven't found anything I liked so far, and now there is yours to try \o/

there was candy EVERYWHERE at work and i had pumpkin ravioli for lunch, so i think it counts as a good halloween. i even got to see a bunch of small children in costume. no scary movies, tho. not even scary episodes of regular tv! hmph.

are you excited for going home? i can't tell. :D

Aw, sounds so awesome! Candy and kids in costumes and fall food! I hope you're fixing that sad lack of scary movies tonight?

AHAHAHA, so excited \o/ \o/ \o/ (Because you can't tell.) Last time I went on a hunger strike for three days before travel and survived on waffles because with the good food that close, I happily refused to eat the local crap. Tempted to do that now, have to remember that it's a whole month away. Almost hallucinating cats everywhere (you know how you see something out of the corner of your eye, like a shoe, and think it's a penguin or something? I'm seeing cats). SO STUPIDLY EXCITED! Planning the menu already.

Continued mandatory overtime at work is not fun, but my coworkers all know the score and everyone continues to be pleasant despite the exhaustion and frustrations! Today we trick-or-treated at each others' desks (fun!) and several people brought their utterly adorable children to trick-or-treat in the office dressed in their Halloween finest. My ovaries probably didn't survive the day due to the overload of cuteness from them and from some of the kiddos who came by my door after I got home!

My guts continue to improve, and I find that I can eat small amounts of chocolate now without discomfort, which is lovely, since going without today of all days would have been unfortunate.

I hope today went well for you! I seriously keep wanting to send you care packages. I don't even know what local sweets are like for you over there.

Boo mandatory overtime. But hey, cute kiddies, Halloween costumes, trick-or-treating at co-workers' desks all sound awesome. The chocolate especially. I'm soooo happy that you can have some for the holiday! It would indeed suck to pass it on Halloween ( ... )

It made me happy to try some of it and not want to curl up in a ball and suffer cramps :D

(do tell me what you garnered from that class; I'd love to know how far along I am in the healing process! Kind of flattered that your mind jumped to me during that lecture as well :P )

I can't say I quite understand your obsession with fresh foods and specialty chocolate, since I'm kind of easy to please in that department (admittedly), but after living several years here in the PNW, I have to admit that the definition of "fresh" up here doesn't quite match what everyone else's is. God knows that if I ever go back to AZ, I won't order fish. It's just asking for belly troubles.

I hope your stomach keeps healing fast. It's no fun at all to be deprived of chocolate. And I'm afraid I can't contribute much from the lecture yet. First year is normal physiology with only little glimpses of pathology cases, so we just studied a lot of transporter molecules and hormones/neurotransmitters in the GI. I just learned that ulcers stop hurting when there is food, and that gastritis gets worse with food, and that irritation of the stomach mucosa triggers nausea and vomiting.

Oh PNW fresh food, there is nothing like it! Heh, good to know about Arizona :D I remember ordering shrimp salad once in Minnesota, then wondering why I paid to eat something that tasted like it came out of my freezer.

Good to know that Velociraptor Island is being nice for a change. ;) Yay for going home in a month! Home and cats and boots and sweaters and FOOD! \o/

Also, speaking as an artist . . . y'all ignore this crazy woman and go read the STORY first, because it is awesome. Pencil scribbles can wait.

Oh my god, food and cat and sweaters and boots! And my leather won't grow mold. Foooooood! And a cat to pet! Family to hang out with, friends to see, cool weather and rain, men who know to keep their hands off their junk in the middle of the street! It's going to be awesome.

Hehehehe, I'm glad we finally got a chance to work together. It's fun!

AH, so excited for your SDMB! You two are gonna make an AWESOME team. Also, good that the island is at least being nice. And I'm awfully happy that you get to go home and stay a while too, have lots of fun and fresh produce and lure in all those swamp monsters. BEAT 'EM TO SUBMISSION. (But don't kill them, naturally) \o/

Posting soon \o/ Excited! And yes, it's been fantastic working with cassiopeia7.

Those swamp monsters. I've been luring one out for the past couple of days, throwing more things at it. Hopefully, it will surface soon.
