My dinner was $3.69, I enjoyed it so much, all it was simply enough was Mexican rice and black beans with sour cream. I used to make this all the time when I lived out on the west coast, it was my favorite broke dinner. It prompted me to google and authentic Mexican rice recipe via the interwebs.

Rice and beans is like the food of choice in Puerto Rico. You can get it literally anywwhere.
