I loved that this photoshoot is just Ohmiya destroying umbrellas, so I decided to translate it. Unfortunately there is no talk of why they decided to destroy the umbrellas, but it's still cute.
vol.58 Rain Storm - Ninomiya Kazunari x Ohno Satoshi
One day during the rainy season we met with these two in their rain fashion. We talked about their memories of "Rain and Arashi."
Beyond the rain effect lens you can see...
Matsumoto-kun suggested the theme "rain," saying "It's the rainy season, after all!" Arriving in waterproof jackets + half pants + rain boots, Ninomiya-kun x Ohno-kun would look at each other and pick up lots of umbrellas at the same time and tease each other with the water. After having a little fun as the rain ended in the afternoon, they told us some stories they associate with rain.
Now that I've become an adult, I get a little happy when the rain changes my plans.
Ninomiya: Lately there are a lot of men's items for rainy days. I don't have a preference for anything other than my umbrella so I didn't know about this stuff at all. Ohno-san, do you have stuff like this?
Ohno: I have waterproof clothes and shoes for fishing, but I don't have any fashionable stuff for wearing around town.
Ninomiya: I see. (Teasingly) But you have an emotional attachment to your umbrella, right?
Ohno: (Answering recklessly)... I think folding umbrellas are convenient. Last year when it was raining a lot I kept one in my bag all the time.
Ninomiya: And then it was just a pain to get out. (lol) Have you always liked rainy days?
Ohno: Hmm, I think sunny days put me in a better mood. When I was a kid, if it rained our trips or sports festivals would get put off or cancelled. That left a strong impression on me.
Ninomiya: Huh~, I don't hate rainy days. If things got interrupted or postponed I actually got excited. Even now, if we suddenly have to take a break during an on-location shoot, I feel like I won something (lol).
Ohno: Ah, I get that! But if things are postponed we end up really busy later.
Ninomiya: Yeah! But it's just us that have to go through something hard, so I just feel "lucky." But when our concerts get moved that causes trouble for the fans, so that's tough.
Ohno: (Little by little) When we're filming for my current drama ("Kagi no Kakatta Heya") for some reason when I show up it usually starts to rain...
Ninomiya: The legend of "Ohno-san = Rain Man"* is surfacing!?
Ohno: The other day it even hailed.
Ninomiya: You took it to the next level.
Ohno: Since it's come this far I get flustered, like "Is the shoot going to be pushed back because of me again!?" If I think back, when I used to go on location with Arashi members it would start to rain when I showed up, and get sunny when I left.
Ninomiya: You've got a lot of experience. (lol) But it's okay, I'm pretty sure Sho-chan said he's a rain man too, so it's not just your fault. I actually don't have any association of rain with Aiba-san. Sun suits him better.
Ohno: Yeah. When I think of MatsuJun and rain, the first thing that comes to mind is that scene in (the drama) "Hana Yori Dango" where they meet in the pouring rain.
Ninomiya: You were (surprisingly) paying attention~!
Ohno: As for Nino, you don't seem to be affected by the weather. You do the same things rain or shine, right?
Ninomiya: Exactly. Either way if I don't have any plans I don't go outside. (lol) Ohno-san sang a solo song about rain, didn't you?
Ohno: You always say something so specific... Huh? Oh, "Rain"! You're such a fanatic!
Ninomiya: Well, we are sharing an umbrella after all (grin). By the way, sharing an umbrella is apparently one of the things that makes girls most excited.
Ohno: (Mystified) Huh, really?
Ninomiya: Right, I wonder why? Girls really are full of mysteries (lol).
*Rain man - In Japanese, the phrases "rain man" or "rain woman" are used to describe a person who always seems to bring the rain with them wherever they go.
