Shigure Souen Ryuu

Yamamoto Takeshi, Yamamoto Tsuyoshi and Superbi Squalo are all well-versed in a deadly and 'invincible' sword technique called the Shigure Souen Ryuu. This sword style is considered perfect as its evolution cycle is unique - having begun with one man who taught it to others. As it expanded to other people, each student added their own form, resulting in multiple versions of a single style; however, for each new style, few would succeed, causing the style to die down over time were it not strong enough or if a successor could not find a worthy candidate. Those deemed worthy to become a successor to this style are shown each form only once. If you were unfit to learn it, you would not memorize the forms and thus not be able to become a successor.
During his training to beat Superbi Squalo, Yamamoto Takeshi learned this style from his father, who boasted of its strength and superiority to other styles. It is only after Takeshi sees and memorizes each form only once that his father explains to him the nature of their sword technique. Takeshi went on to use these techniques during the battle for the Vongola Rain Ring and it was revealed that Yamamoto Tsuyoshi and one other students were the last two carry out the style. For this reason, Takeshi was able to obtain victory, as the style he had overcome before differed in the eighth form.

- 1 | Shajiku no Ame ○ 車軸の雨 ○ Axel of Rain The first of four offensive forms, the first form is simple. Takeshi charges forward and attacks with a thrust of his sword.
- 2 | Sakamaku Ame ○ 遣らずの雨 ○ Raging Rain The first of four defensive forms, Sakamaku Ame requires Takeshi to create waves of water with his sword and then ducks behind them, holding his sword in front of him defensively.
- 3 | Yarazu no Ame ○ 遣らずの雨 ○ Last Minute Rain Also offensive, this form requires Yamamoto to drop his Katana and kick it at his opponent in a flying stab.
- 4 | Gofuu Juuu ○ 五風十雨 ○ May Wind, October Rain Also defensive, this form calls for Yamamoto to synchronize his breathing with that of his opponent to enable himself to evade their encroaching attacks.
- 5 | Samidare ○ 五月雨 ○ Summer Rain Another offensive form, Samidare seems to be a normal slashing attack; however, mid-motion, he releases his katana with one hand, catching it with the other to finish his attack.
- 6 | Unknown The sixth form has not been shown, but it is assumed to be defensive.
- 7 | Shibuki Ame ○ 繁吹き雨 ○ Splashing Rain Another defensive form, Yamamoto switches the blade of his sword around and sets himself in a spin to create a shield much like a whirlwind.
- 8 | Shinotsuku Ame ○ 篠突く雨 ○ Pelting Rain An offensive form created by Yamamoto Tsuyoshi, this form uses the blade to cut all around the bearer. This form allowed Yamamoto to strike Squalo for the first time.
- 9 | Utsushi Ame ○ うつし雨 ○ Reflective Rain An offensive form, Yamamoto uses his sword to create a large wave that creates a reflection of himself. While his opponent is distracted by the reflection, Yamamoto moves in for an attack from above.
- 10 | Scontro di Rondine ○ Clash of the Swallow Another offensive form, Scontro di Rondie is modeled after Squalo's Scontro Di Squalo. To use this form, he creates a tidal wave of water and a barrier of rain flames lead by his Rain Swallow as he charges forward for a swift and powerful attack.
- 11 | Beccata di Rondine ○ Swallow's Beak Also offensive, this form greatly resembles Squalo's Zanna Di Squalo. This form is performed through a series of multiple sharp thrusts of his sword at the target.
- Aggregate Art: Jiunoka ○ Shower's Transformation Perhaps the most powerful - and in its own way terrifying - form of the Shigure Souen Ryuu, Aggregate Art is a combination of all of the above forms. It causes the attacked target to be slowed down to a painfully slow crawl through the use of his rain flames.
