Jormungandr had been going through the whole day feeling like he was forgetting something incredibly important. His conversations with his wife and children had felt hollow and forced, almost unreal. He tripped over words at unexpected moments for little to know reason

She spots Jormungandr while she's out and about, and those Mayfield memories make her stomach do a funny little flip.
Right.
She stops abruptly, wondering if maybe she should just keep her head down and keep walking. ]

And by confront him, what she really means is saying hello. ]
Good afternoon.
[ It's the same lilting, slightly eerie drone voice she's been speaking in all day, but when she speaks to him it's a little more even, and slightly less creepy. ]

And... also she's talking to him. He can't quite reason why this is odd. Should it be? It's just one more strange thing that has made today so... off-putting.]
...Hello.

Is everything alright, sir?

He opens his mouth to reply but suddenly he doesn't know how. He shuts his mouth again, frowns, and tries once more.]
I... I'm not. Really sssure.

[Lilly stares for a moment, then shakes her head and speaks with certainty. It makes perfect sense to her.]
If you're not sure, then you've either forgotten something or there is. This entire town has been strange today, hasn't it?

He's had two sets of memories in his head all day. Loki thinks he knows which one is real...but the others feel so vivid.
He sees Jormungandr, and a flash of memory stirs -- that's the kid Loki took under wing about ten years ago. Showed him the ropes, you know, how to thrive in a place like Mayfield. Jormy's practically family.
But he also remembers. I had a son named Jormungandr.
Loki hails him as the mentor.]
What're you doing out here all by your lonesome?

Wait. Father. Was that... no, that couldn't mean anything. But the deep ocean lurking in the back of his head whispers that it does but why should the ocean be whispering? And why to him?
Nevertheless, when Loki says hello, he manages a nod and a greeting.]
Hello, L... Loki. [why was that so hard to say? Why is everything so hard to say?] I just... needed a walk.

His name is Jormungandr. That's the name of Loki's son. A son who definitely wouldn't walk, and the idea amuses Loki -- the part of Loki that's a god, that is. He can't help but laugh.
...wait, that laugh was rude, and came out of nowhere.]
Sorry. Something about what you just said was...funny to me.
