Jormungandr has been very seriously considering murdering all the drones at his job and burning down the building. He just doesn't see the point in all the paper that does nothing but have words that are meaningless but all the drones act like it's the most important thing in the world. They don't seem to understand that in a thousand years no one ( Read more... )

he misses the water more than he can say, action, sea monster misses the water, employment joys, mayfield

[Crowe often comes to the lake to fish. He's not usually worried about actually catching anything, it's more for relaxation than anything. He's a little surprised to find a guy just standing there though.]

O-Oh. Ah. I'm not... intruding, am I...?

[Jormungandr tenses slightly and turns his head to look at the newcomer. He's tempted to say yes. But he is far from Midgard, or so he's been told, and this lake is not his like the oceans were. Claiming them would be stupid. Not only that, the lake is a paltry excuse for a body of water. But it suffices as a reminder, at least.]

...no.

[Crowe gives him a curious look, then sits down with the small tackle box and pole.]

Ah, if you're sure, yeah? Not like I plan to actually find any good fish in here...

[He's been standing still long enough that the fish that swim out in the shallows have gotten used to him. He's seen a few. And no, they're probably no good for fishing.

He nods. Nothing else really to say, and it's not like he enjoys talking to begin with.]

[ Ilsa is dressed for the office, though she does not work in the same building as Jormungandr. ]

[ She sits on a bench a few yards away, watching him, but not in a hostile way. Her attitude is more like that of a lifeguard, but one that knows everyone present can swim. ]

[He knows she's there, but he will not acknowledge her presence. There's no need to. And he's busy.

Though it doesn't really look like it.

No, he's busy remembering the ocean.]

It's not big enough, is it?

[ The quiet comment is pitched just loud enough to reach him. She remembers another beach, another time. ]

[He turns his head to look at her, a straight, steady stare, before looking back at the lake.]

No.

Iss wrong.

[Hey look! Mart approaches while Jor is trying to enjoy that lake water.]

Hey!

Silent guy!

Whatsup.

[...it's that one guy who claimed to be the son of Leviathan. Oh how nice.

He stares, not very nicely.]

[Just going to think that's welcoming]

Man, I didn't even know we had a lake!

Finally, somewhere cool to swim.

[He looks back out over the water and scoffs slightly.]

[Well, look who it is. Loki's been meaning to go talk with Jormungandr, but lying to Thor about how the future works showing Thor around Mayfield has kept him rather busy.

But who is Loki to turn down this chance meeting? He walks up to the edge of the lake, not going in.]

Hello, son.

[He turns his head at the sound before turning completely around to face Loki. He doesn't move from his spot, though.]

Father.

Sorry about the misunderstanding. Didn't recognize you.

Can't say I blame me, considering your new skin.

[Jormungandr scowls. He hates it. Forced from one prison to another, but at least there he was permitted to keep his natural form.

But still. He's not angry at Loki for the misunderstanding. That was just. Frustrating. But understandable.]

Fine.
