Birthdays in which a husband-to-be has to leave after a blissful week of togetherness are not enjoyable birthdays. Not that I'm ungrateful, I'm glad that he was here for most of the day, but his absence looms, and then happens, and then persists. Until three weeks from now.
So I'm going to share some happy things to cheer me up.
FRIDAY NOV 19: Casino Royale was amazing. Daniel Craig is second on my James Bond list after Sean Connery. The only problems I had with the movie were that there were no dancing girls in the opening credits, and they sold out and made Le Chiffre's tournament Texas Hold'em instead of Baccarat. I guess it made for a more exciting game to watch, since James could watch the other player's tells, etc. but I prefer my Bond a Baccarat player, so I'm going to ignore that major part of the plot.
SATURDAY NOV 20: We went to St. Olaf to see Martha in her starring role in Urinetown, which was very good. Everyone in the musical was good, I can't say anything bad about it, other than its depressing, but eh.
SUNDAY NOV 21: Steve and Tyler sat outside of the New Ulm K-mart all night to buy Tyler a Wii, since a friend of Tyler's sat his place from 7 - 12 since both Tyler and Steve were in Northfield with me. They got home around 8 or 9, and we unwrapped the glory that is the Wii and played with it all morning. It took me a few hours to discover the second Wii that was upstairs, which Steve had got me for my birthday and Christmas present! After they got their voucher at K-mart, they went and got another voucher at Target. I was pretty dense about the whole thing (being that I was tired from worrying about them all night) but Steve had brought down a controller for me, (which I seriously thought was my birthday present....) and then my dad said that they were lucky to get two Wii's, and I didn't get it then either... dumb. Oh well. The Wii is fun.
SATURDAY NOV 25: I observed my birthday (which made today, my real birthday, weird and sad in comparison) by visiting my family in New Ulm, and having delicious roast and noodles. I got a book by Amy Baker with directions on how to sew lots of cool projects (bedside organizer, pillows, purses, etc), a scarf from American Apparel, a Nikki McClure calendar, Yoshi's Island DS.
I don't know if that worked. One more good thing is that I found some pear hard cider, so I'm going to see if that will work. =)
