Hey everybody, my dad's birthday's coming up soon! I mean my real dad, not the one I've got here. I haven't asked his birthday yet. Anyway, so, I'm going to throw him a party! I did it all the time back home, but it'd definitely be way more fun if it wasn't just me. So does anybody wanna help? We could make the cake together and everything

[Dakki jaunts across the street and smiles at the girl, standing at the end of the walkway to the house.]

It's a nice day to be out in the sun, hmm? What're you writing?

[She looks up from her writing at the sound of that voice, giving a curious glance and a smile to the stranger.]

Hi! [She glances down at the book in her hands again at the question, closing it with a definite thump.] This is my diary. I'm writing about Mayfield in it.

Ah. A diary is a nice thing to have. Especially in a place like Mayfield.

[The girl seems friendly and open to further talk, so Dakki proceeds up the walk and to the porch.]

My name's Dakki, by the way. I live across the street with my friend Gat. What's your name?

[Smiling, she offers a hand to the girl, for a handshake.]

[The diary receives a fond pat when Dakki gives her praises, and Yonah's smile grows just a little bit wider.]

My name's Yonah! It's great that you get to live with a friend, I wish I could do that. [Aand after a moment's pause, she accepts that hand as well.]
