They stand at her car and it’s all very high school first date and aw shucks until he just cups her face in his hands and kisses her and she rises up on her toes to meet him.

This? This is adorable. And it's awkward that they went two towns over, but Shirley would have a shit fit and Pierce *would* be inappropriate, and I like that Jeff and Annie know it's awkward but that you gave them a legitimate reason for driving that far.
