I've decided to do that because I hate posting publicly. I posted publicly for the benefit of my friends who don't have LJ's, but 1) they think I'm sad for having an LJ and 2) they don't read it anyways, so it doesn't really matter if I make my posts friends only

If you look in lj_nifty you might find something to friends lock all your older posts in one go.
