It's become what I always feared it would. Metal as I knew it has become so god damn commercial. Most of it is just become crappy, cliche pap now. Household names and common riffs. And the stuff I still respect and love is moving into the mainstream to be destroyed by 12 year old kids in chain pants. Why? How did this happen? I know my ranting may ( Read more... )

I totally agree with you on this. I understand how it would bother you for sure. The only good outcome of this, is maybe the artist might be able to make some significant money this way.

I saw a clothing line commercial on fuse a while back, with "memphis will be laid to waste" playing in the background, and it made me furious for some reason.

Yeah I couldn't agree with you more about the commercialization of some of these things that were originally established to be against standard society and values. Its almost like the way that we are being overfed the word "revolution." Automatically if you are commercially endorsing something...then it isnt a fucking revolution. And the sheer idea of "Memphis will be laid to waste" being played on any commercial infuriates me. That is my favorite Norma Jean song...how dare it be defiled. To say the least I am disgusted.
