November project

This is a project I recently completed for some friends of mine: a custom set of eight anatomical serviettes. We collaborated on ideas for the subject matter, and as a result I ended up stitching some new unexpected pieces of anatomy (scapula! clavicle!) as well as some old favorites.

Yay! I'm very pleased that I had the opportunity to make them for such lovely people. Also, I think they've inspired me to give more dinner parties, and sew more strange things.

Wow, these embroidered napkins are so beautiful. I admire your patience, these must have taken so long. I've only ever embroidered one single pillowcase and that almost drove me out of my mind, the process was so slow.

Thanks! The sewing didn't take very long at all: it was finding the time to sew that was the problem, if that makes sense? I did spend lots of time on the preparatory drawings though. I like embroidery because I can listen to the radio and stitch automatically. It can be very relaxing, unless you have a deadline!
