Hemingway's Revenge

I met all my deadlines for the day, so we went out and sort of celebrated. I ordered a cocktail called Hemingway's Revenge (a reference to Hemingway's Death and the Afternoon-- a champagne and absinthe cocktail that he didn't really invent) that consisted of cassis, champagne, and absinthe. It was delicious, but I only had one.

It was kind of oddly purple and red, because of the crème de cassis. Here's what just champagne and absinthe looks like, kind of a iridescent greenish milky but transparent color.

I think I'm going to be avoiding alcohol myself for some time after this weekend, because it's just never as fun the next day as it was the night before. Only tea and water for awhile!
