i have a far too open mind to be "christian".
No you don't. God can change anyone's heart or mind if you we ask him to. Guess who recently became a Christian? Norma McCorvey. That's "Jane Roe" from Roe V. Wade in case you didn't know. God could change her heart. That's pretty heavy stuff.
why are we given a mind that thinks.
is not thinking the essence of being human?
Yeh. It is. Sadly haha. We all have free will. God gave us the right to choose to love him. He did that from the beginning of time. He made us as companions. But he also has to be praised. God gave us the choice of loving him or forsaking him. There are only two choices.
why do we have to do things a certain way.
can we not love god and please him without following a set of rules?
God is not about rules. A relationship with him is not about following rules. It's about loving him. And if you have a close relationship with him you just know what's right and wrong. It's hard to explain I guess.
why must i always question.
why can't i just follow blindly.
