Happiness is a warm gun....... and a pile of twitching zombies

Just got back from going to see the Dawn of the Dead remake with clean_cut , i7will7use7you, and jothetard (who was gracious enough to drive us to the theater in her roomy car AND smuggle in candy in a gigantic purse for the "kids" as well as trying to make them hit their heads on the backseat, which they quite often deserved)and all I can say is that I am a very happy camper, in ( Read more... )

that movie was off the hook yo yoyoyo.
Too bad they didn't keep the biker gang that was in the original, but I guess some things would have just been totally silly in this world of "zombies that actually run".
The ending credits were like, teh coolest, k.

Yeah, I held out little hope for the bikers but like you said, it would probably not make as much sense. That and the original covered a longer span of time that would allow for people eventually banding together into small armies. But yeah, I was totally satisfied with the movie, it is definitely up there on my zombie movie list. Speaking of, have you seen the japanese zombie movie "Stacy"? It is isn't as messed up as Battle Royale (then again what is?) but it is pretty out there, not the best plot-wise but worth seeing for the "Romero Squads" and "Bruce Cambell's Right Arm Supa Chainsaw" infomercials.

Nope, never even heard of "Stacy"; I'll try to check it out for the wacky zombie antics!

You didn't see the nuclear powered mech suit killing zombies? Man, you must have blinked or something, it was off in the corner. Oh well.

Dammit! I must of missed that when I was busy trying to see where all of the flying candy was coming from, I guess that will always remain a mystery to me along with the mech footage, sigh...

Maybe the mech that I missed was taking pot-shots at us with his PEZ-cannon when we weren't looking. Either that or it was Chris or Teron, both are equally valid explanations.

Maybe we can edit some splices from Matrix Revolutions in with it, when I get it on dvd.... Robots Shooting, Zomfies dying....

Also.... I need 'New Year's Eve' by Nina Gordon. Do you have it?

Wow, that is something I definitely want to see, I got a basic plot going for a book or movie or whatever along those lines but then again when does such a thing ever get completed or require completing on average? Still, might not be a bad idea for a graphic novel/portfolio fodder. As for the Nina Gordon, nope, I was just humming it while typing the entry because we heard it on the car ride back to the apartment and thought that it would have been an excellent choice for a zombie movie soundtrack.

The earlier version of that movie was shot at the Monroeville Mall here in the Pittsburgh area.
