feanelwa's suggestion of rubbing some onion juice on my hand and blubbing my heart out at the LEA whining about how my sick mother and my absent father who never provided child support couldn't help me out was slightly unethical, but essentially true, so it worked. Wonderfully ( Read more... )

Yaaaaaaay! It worked! *dance of joy* I am so proud. Particularly because I was half joking. And do not apologise to taxpayers until the Lord Chancellor apologises to them for his £1000 a roll wallpaper. (They are paying my £1150 of tuition fees for me this year, so that's about five square metres of wall, something like that?)

Yay! That's great news. :-D
How long will you be able to stay at Christmas?

Probably three weeks or so. I'll probably come clutching a large amount of revision paraphernalia for my Semester 1 exams, and either lose it, or leave it on Abby's chest of drawers until I return home.

Yay!
What bands are gonna be at Reading this year?

There's a list here.

The line-up isn't brilliant, and there's a lot of gaps in bands I want to see (with the exception of the idiot that decided to make The Shins and mclusky clash with Graham Coxon and the Super Furry Animals) but it'll probably keep me entertained. And if not, there's always alcohol.

hooray for slightly unethical tactics that net you a decent living allowance! brokenblossom August 7 2004, 10:28:59 UTC
Well done that Alice! The essentially true saves the day once more (it's how I've managed to get away with having paid nil tuition fees thus far)!

I didn't mind paying tax in order to finance impoverished students while I was working, as I've benefitted from the tax of others in my time.

I am very jealous of the feast you must have had today... yum.

I don't mind paying tax in order to finance impoverished students either, although I'm annoyed by people who moan about having to pay tax to finance 'lazy students who are drinking all the time'. Do they not realise that without getting a job or having very generous parents, we only have £20 a week to live on after rent?!

Eh, I didn't eat most of the feast. I was just in a baking mood!

Yay! All of that is wonderful news!

What bands are you planning on seeing at Reading? I'm looking over the list, and there are a few I really like. If you're not familiar with Blanche, you should see them. Saturday, Carling Stage.

I'm so happy you can stop worrying about living expenses (and plane ticket..). This'll hopefully take some of the stress off of you.

Argh, I'm so behind on replying to comments! This one was left last week. :|

Anyway, I downloaded a few Blance MP3s a while back, had another listen to them, and it'll be interesting to see what they're like live. I also plan on seeing Graham Coxon, SFA, Franz Ferdinand, anyone but Morrisey on Saturday night, Dogs Die in Hot Cars, Devendra Banhart and loads more. Anyone else you'd think I should see?

Yay, plane ticket! Five more weeks until I can give you dates. (The staying-at-your-house kind, not the 'Elimidate' or horrible dried fruit kind.) :)
